Vinnie's P.O.V
Once Jay walked off I sat there and thought about what he had said. He is right, I'm not going to get her back if I don't make any improvements and all I did was hurt her constantly. Whether it may be me being overprotective or speaking to other girls I always managed to hurt her. I don't know how I could fix this though, she refuses to even look at me so how am I going to manage to get her to even speak to me?
A burning sensation came from my fingertips, causing me to throw my cigarette onto the ground. It's already past the filter, nearly burnt all the way through it actually. Maybe I'm procrastinating, or maybe I'm just nervous about this whole thing. From the corner of my eye, I could see two people walk outside. Leah and that guy I punched were standing there talking, she looked distressed and he looked like he was laughing at her or something. Next, he's got his arms around her hugging her, I know I have no right to get mad about this but I can feel the fire beginning to burn.
My body reacted quicker than my brain and all of a sudden I'm making my way over. He spotted me before she did, his eyes watched me as I came to a stop behind Leah.
"Leah?" I said softly, trying to keep my aggressive side away. A smirk appeared on the guy's face, he was clearly able to tell that I'm bothered by him and he likes that. I could punch this guy's face in, but you know what? I'm feeling generous so I won't.
She turned around quickly, her face dropping as soon as she realised who said her name. It turned from happy to sad, or angry, I can't really place it.
"Can I help you?" She said attitude filling her voice. It almost seems like an act to make it look like she doesn't care.
"Can we talk?" I asked, my voice still low.
"I don't want to speak to you Vinnie" She grumbled, crossing her arms on her chest like a child about to have a tantrum.
"I know but I just..." my eyes turned to the curly-haired fuck standing behind her with that same smirk, "Do you mind?"
"Oh no, not at all" He responded in the most annoying way possible. Leah's eyes looked at my hands that are clenched at my sides and turned around.
"Just give me a second with him okay," She said sweetly to him. She should be speaking like that to me. No, no she shouldn't cause I hurt her.
"Alright, I'll see you inside then," He said with a smile, he walked off with confidence. Confidence that I could strike down in 2.5 seconds if Leah wasn't standing in front of me.
"What is it?" Leah mumbled, looking back up at me.
"I um... I want to make things right between us" I began, "I know you're going to say no but I really miss you, Leah".
"You cheated on me, don't forget that," She said in an angry tone.
"I know I did and I'm sorry, there is no excuse for what I did and I know it was shitty but I promise you Leah I want you and only you".
"Your promises mean shit Vinnie," She said, now irritated by me.
"Ba— Leah, I will do anything to be friends then because I at least want to be able to speak to you, it's been like hell without being able to" I begged, and I never beg.
"Fine, friends, but that's it," she said, sticking her finger out at me as her voice raised when it left her mouth. A smile appeared on my face which caused her frown to turn upside down too.
"So what did curly hair want?" I asked, partly because I wanted to smack him and also because I'm genuinely curious as to why Leah would still speak to him.
"Not that it's any of your business but I pulled him aside to apologise for your actions when you punched him in the face" She said with a huff. Apologise for my actions. I wouldn't even apologise for my own actions.
"Why? Actually, you know what I can't even be bothered speaking about him I don't know why I asked".
"Well, someone needed to apologise for your actions Vinnie cause god forbid you ever would huh?" She said, jokingly I think?
"Not to him" I mumbled.
"Why? He did nothing wrong" She argued. Here we go again.
"Because I know he wants you, I can see by the way he speaks to you and looks at you" I began, "You don't understand the hold you have on people Leah, who wouldn't want you".
A small smile appeared on her face as the last few words left my mouth. Finally, one of her beautiful smiles is directed at me and at something I had said. No words can explain how much I missed those smiles.
"Either way you shouldn't have punched him, I never did anything to you to make you not trust me around other guys Vinnie".
"It's not that I didn't trust you Leah, I didn't trust them and I still don't but it's not my place to say anything and I know that now" I responded.
"Good, you should've come to that realisation a long time ago," She said with that same small smile on her face.
