Monster (Marceline x Marshall Lee)

Chapter 2

*Marshall Lee's POV*

So I guess I have to go see whatever it is everyone is freaking out about. Gumball is basically dragging me. "What's the big deal? I don't get what could be so exciting that I didn't even have a chance to eat breakfast or you know, wake up!", I say.

Gumball looks at me in shock and says, "Marshall Lee! Look, you'll understand when we get there! Now hurry up!"

Finally, we arrive at the Candy Kingdom. Everything looks normal. What could possibly have Gumball so worked up? We walk in and suddenly, I see what has him so worked up. There's a huge portal-like thing or whatever in the middle of the room. People who look so much like us are coming through. "Quickly, the portal will only be open for five minutes!", a girl who looks like Gumball says. I sit and wait for my lookalike.

That's when I see her. She comes in last. The second she steps through that portal, it's like my heart stops. My knees suddenly go weak (luckily I can float, so no one will notice) and my palms are sweaty. Wait what?! No! Not me! I am Marshall Lee the Vampire King! I don't get nervous! Pshh!

I focus my eyes back on her. She hasn't noticed me yet. I'm standing behind the others. She's the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. (I mean what can you expect? She's the girl version of me.) All of a sudden, she turns and locks eyes with me.

Oh no... She's coming closer... What do I do?! I've forgotten how to talk, or even move, so I just float there awkwardly as she gets to me. "No way! You're... Me!", she says with the most beautiful voice I've ever heard.

"Actually I'm Marshall Lee...", I say with a shy grin. Wait... Shy?! Ugh what's wrong with me?! I'm losing my game here!

"I'm Marceline!", she says back. She smirks and winks at me.

"Marceline... That's such a beautiful name.." Wait, did I say that out loud? Oh glob... Not cool, NOT COOL MARSHALL... I quickly try to think of something cool to say, but for some reason it's so hard! Finally, I say "You smell like strawberries.." *mental facepalm* Well crap. I blew that. I feel like hitting myself in the face with a brick. She starts to giggle in such a cute way. I look up and notice that she's blushing. That's good! Well I must've done something right.. But what?

I let out a small laugh and notice that my cheeks feel really hot too. Glob Marshall, pull yourself together! Since when do I blush? I am a super tough man!

"Glob, I don't know why I feel so nervous. I'm sorry... I'm usually not like this.." I say to her.

"You? Don't you mean me? I feel like I've been hit by the awkward train or whatever. Let's get out of here! You got a place, right?"

"Yeah!", I say, grateful she hadn't noticed my awkwardness. I can feel myself getting my grip back. I wink at her with a smirk, "You can stay with me." And we float out of the Candy Kingdom and to my home.
