HAGEL'S POV
My chest squeezed as I stood transfixed. I watched her descend the stairs, my eyes hungrily taking in her appearance. She looked fierce.
The blue knee length pencil dress hug her body perfectly, accentuating her curves. Those curves used to be curvier , more profound. But her unhealthy lifestyle of a year and half ago snatched a portion away. Nonetheless, she still stole my breath.
Her face smooth and petit. Cheeks a bit protruding due to lack of proper diet. It deeply angered me.That she's been living so lowly all this time. Alone. Feeling too stubborn and proud to come to me for help.
It hurt me. That she hated me that much. That she'd rather live like this than come to me.
It bruised me. Scarred me.Her furious eyes connected with mine as she came to a click stop at the base of the stairs.
" Boss, are you there?" I faintly hear my assistant say over the phone.
" I'll get back to you". I hung up and stashed my phone in my breast pocket.I took a quick glance at my watch. She took a good hour and thirty minutes getting ready.
She glared daggers at me.
" Where are we going? And why this skimpy dress?" She asked in a peeved tone. Eyeing me with spite." Have breakfast. Five minutes and not a second longer" I brushed her questions away.
I know she heard my conversation with Vidal earlier.
I had no plans to bring her here initially. When I had found her unconscious on the floor. I had clicked off all alarm bells and scooped her into my arms and made for my car. Thankfully, it hadn't been anything fatal.
Stress and malnutrition and an awful ounce of poor living.I didn't think twice when I took her in the jet and flew back home, leaving my engagement announcement ceremony and feeding the Media all the fuel they needed to start another fire.
Brandon and Analyce had been pissed, and Helen utterly furious.Yet, I didn't give two fucks. None of them mattered as much as Hazel did.
It was dawn when we landed. Hazel slept through the entire journey.
Her head wasn't faring well either. So I took her to the Cain mansion to have the family doctor examine her.My fears had been confirmed. She probably had almost all if not entirely all her memories back. And she was struggling to make meanings of them.
Having her here, back with me, nothing felt so right. This time, I won't let her go. I won't let her run from me. Even if I have to endure the hatred she has for me.
Even if I have to sleep with one eye open because she'd cut off my balls any chance she gets.Even if she harangue those words at me again.
I won't let go. I won't.***†***
I allowed her some space to have breakfast, walking away to the outer foyer to make a call.
The company board is on my neck after the news hit the screens last night.I haven't slept a wink. Not that it mattered. I had watched Hazel sleep through the night and only left to shower when day broke.
Then just when I was ready to take her to my penthouse far away from all this, Vidal came over.
It was expected. She had been livid at me for what I did. Her hate for Hazel so vivid I dreaded what she'd do to her if she set eyes on her.I'm glad she left already. Now, not only is the De Silver family after Hazel, but the Keller Stiles as well. And the bloody media.
She's in more danger than she can possibly comprehend.
And, I cannot leave her unsupervised for a second.I glanced back at where she sat on the kitchen island picking her food slowly.
This is not the right time to be sexualizing her. To be fantasizing about the wickedly dirty things I want to do to her. But she looked so good in that dress. Her fierceness so sexy it was impossible to ignore. That body...was it the same as I remember it? Soft, responding....made for sex.
