Sweet love at last

It's been 3 years since you've died,
June 23rd 1990

Everyone you knew seemed to have gotten over it
Even your parents
Which was surprising
You'd have thought they'd care the most.

Even though it's been years

You're not used to it.

Sometimes, you even think you're still alive

You woke up to the sun coming into your room
Through the blinds, it was pretty

"Good mornin' pretty woman"
He said as he kissed your forehead

cliff held you to him
Like you would slip through his arms

You tried to get up but it was really no use
His arms held you to him
And he wasn't letting go anytime soon

It wasn't like when you were alive

Cliff didn't really hold you "fully"

He felt warm but distant then

His hands were faint on you

Now you felt him "fully."

His whole body had been curled around you
He had his legs entangled with yours
His arms held you tight to his chest
His head was on top of yours

He wasn't budging.

"Cliff let me go please-"

"Nuh uh." Cliff said

"Cliff-"

You Found

No use

In getting up

Especially from his arms

Cliff chuckled at your sigh
And he smirked as he held you to him
He looked down into your eyes
As you looked up to his

"I'm so happy I have you."
He said blatantly

You smiled at his sudden words
"I'm happy to have you too, cliff."

"I love you baby."

"I love you too."

You felt butterflies
You have felt them before, having crushes and such
But this was a different butterfly
Almost one that's as big and active as a humming bird
It's crazy

How could you just fall for someone
in the matter of years,
and feel this good every day with them

It was too much to contemplate
Especially that early in the Morning

You squirmed, but cliff wasn't letting up

Still? Damn

"Quit. It's not like you have a job."
He mumbled, almost angrily

He was somewhat irritated
By the fact that you were so set on getting up

Cliff closed his eyes as
he tightened his grip on your body

You were near overheating
From his body heat
And from the blanket

"Can we take the blanket off cliff?"

Cliff looked at you

"Baby.."

"What?"

"I need a blanket."

You looked at him confused
"Childhood thing?"

Cliff looked at you with a indescribable face
"No."

You shrugged it off
and just laid back in the prison of his limbs

"I like blankets."
Cliff said blatantly

He was obviously trying to fall back asleep

You looked at him and giggled

"What're you laughin' at?"
He said with confusion

"Just you cliff.."
You replied

"Fine I'll let you go then."
Cliff released you and you instantly stretched

Only to get out of bed

Cliff laid back in the covers
He smiled to himself
How did he find someone like that

Now, your dynamic, didn't separate you

Dead and dead
Heart to heart
Hand in hand
"His" and "hers"

It all fit
It all made sense

It was love.
