Chapter 2: Suspense

I slumped tiredly against the door as it closed with a click. I breathed heavily as I panted, my heart rate was fast as I tried to get my mind off that weird figure.

'Why was it following me?!' I tried fueling my lungs with air while also trying to calm my beating heart down as I panted and took long deep breaths. "G-gosh.. I'm really out of shape.." I tiredly slumped against the door.

"Y/n?" I flinched at the sudden voice before I looked up as I saw my aunt walk out of her room, already dressed in her police uniform. "Are you alright? Did something happen?" She looks at me with worry.

I nod, "Yeah.. J-just got chased by some random dogs.." I half lied as I saw her face morphed into relief. "You shouldn't be running in the streets, you know that there's a bunch of dogs out there."

She said before snickering as she walked towards me and took out her hand, waiting for me to grab it.

I chuckled as well, my fear and the figure faded from my mind as I forgot about it, kinda. I grabbed her hand as she lifted me up. "You have your lunch?" I asked. "Actually.. Undyne asked me if I could join her on taking the break in muffets." She replied.

"Whaat!? You get to meet and eat with Undyne, the chief of your police station at muffets?!" I looked at her in disbelief and shock. "You're so lucky!!" I exclaimed while she chuckled.

"Welp.. I'll head off to work, bye y/n. And don't burn down the house!" She jokingly said as she waved at me before closing the door. I managed to say my goodbyes and a quick "I won't!" before she closed the door. Leaving me alone in this empty house.

I sighed as I picked up my backpack before I dropped it near my bedroom door as I walked towards the kitchen. Opening the chiller of my fridge as i grabbed a piece of chicken from it before I walked to the sink to rinse the chicken as I headed towards my room.

As i arrived at my room. I opened the door with my hand behind my back before I walked in as I was immediately greeted by my small pet dragon.

He looked at me with his glorious wings and cream colored scales that had small light brown patches scattered all over his body, his black pupils staring back at me as he swayed his tail with excitement and joy.

"Hello big guy! Excited to see me are you?" I chuckled as I rubbed his head, which he leaned at my affection before he perked up as he smelled raw meat.

I sighed as he wagged his tail excitedly at me. "Man.. you already noticed it before I could even surprise you with it."

I showed Cream my hidden hand as I gave Cream the chicken as he growled happily before he quickly clamped his jaws on the chicken and scurried away.

I sighed as I refilled his water bowl before leaving him alone to feast with his food.

I walked back to grab my backpack as I dropped it near my desk before I completely walked out of my room and headed to the kitchen.

I hummed as I leaned onto the countertop in thought before I pulled out my phone and headset as I turned the headset on and connected it to my phone before I wore it on my head as I listened and hummed with the music.

I grabbed a pot before I filled it with water as i turned the stove on before I put the pot over the fire. I walked into one of the cupboards as I grabbed a pack of instant ramen. I tore the pack open as I took out the seasoning before I left it on the counter as I walked towards the fridge to grab an egg before I walked back.

As I checked the pot, I grabbed the dried noodles before I put it in the pot of boiling water, i leaned onto the countertop as i waited for the noodles to cook while i scrolled on my phone.
