Chapter 3: Blurred Mind

Y/N pov

I woke up in the same black abyss as I rubbed my eyes. 'Seriously, why do I keep appearing in the same nightmare?' I huffed before I stood up from the ground as I looked around only to see nothing but pure emptiness. 

I slowly began walking around. My footsteps echoed across the space as I began exploring the empty place, which made me feel a little uncomfortable from how empty and quiet this place was.

I stopped for a bit as I felt myself panicking. I slowly took deep breaths as the uneasy feeling that was squeezing my chest subsided a little before I continued walking. I kept on walking for what felt like a few minutes before I stopped. 'Why do I feel like I'm being watched..?' I sighed as the uneasy feeling came back.

I looked around only to see nothing as I quickly walked away. 'This is getting a little bit creepy.. Why do I keep dreaming this place? Where am I exactly?' As I walked, my quick pacing turned into running as the void kept stretching endlessly.

After hours of running I stopped again to catch my breath as I leaned myself on my knees and panted heavily. After a while I stood up as I was about to walk again before suddenly a black goopy tendril snaked onto my neck as it began squeezing my neck tightly to the point it was hard to breathe.

I gasped for air as it began pulling me off the ground and lifted me up in the air while I tried pulling and scratching at the appendage, desperately wanting it off my neck but the appendage wouldn't budge as it continued strangling me in the air.

Just as I was about to pass out from the lack of air, I heard a low deep chuckle before I fully passed out...

"Gah-!!" I gasped as I immediately sat up from my bed as I panted and wiped off a few sweat drops from my face before I sighed and leaned back and placed a hand on my neck before I winced. 'Wait..pain?!' I quickly got up from my bed as I rushed towards a mirror.

My eyes widened as I saw a bruise around my neck. "When did I.." I cut myself off as my eyes widened in realization. "There is no way.. It was just a dream." I backed away from the mirror in disbelief before I heard a soft growl behind me. I turned to look as I saw Cream giving me a worried look before I sighed and patted his head.

"I'm fine, Cream." I mumbled before I gave him a smile. "Now.. Who's ready for breakfast?" Cream immediately perked up as he wagged his tail in excitement before rushing out of the room as I chuckled at his reaction.

I rubbed my eyes as I sighed. 'There is so much happening.. Why now?' I walked out  from my bedroom as I saw my aunt already in her police uniform. She looked up as she heard me opening the door, she put down her mug filled with coffee as Cream immediately greeted her with excitement. "Good morning you little rascal! You seem excited, huh?"

She said in her baby voice as she rubbed Cream's head. "Good morning, Y/n." She greeted. "Cream's very excited for some reason." She said as I chuckled. "Don't mind him, he's just very excited about food." I yawned as I grabbed a mug from the cupboards and poured hot coffee in it. "You're early.." I sipped from the mug.

"As always," she said as she finished her coffee, she sat up. "Anyways.. I should get going, can I trust you with the dishes?" She asked, bringing the dishes to the sink.

"Mhm." I nod, putting in two pieces of bread in the toaster before I grabbed an egg from the fridge. "Love you, Y/n. I'll go now." She said before walking towards Cream and kissed his forehead, "goodbye as well Cream." She said before walking out the door. "Love you too, stay safe out there." I replied back before she closed the door.

I opened the fridge and grabbed a piece of chicken as I boiled it in a pot of boiling water for a couple of minutes before I turned the stove off and let the chicken to cool down before I fed Cream his food.

I turned on the other burner as I placed a frying pan and cracked an egg in as I fried it and seasoned it with salt and pepper as it slowly cooked in the pan before I turned the stove off and put my eggs on my plate as I put it down on the table before I walked towards the toaster and grabbed the two pieces of toast and put it on my plate.

I washed and dried the dishes as I stored it all back in the cupboards and cabinets

I let out a yawn as I stretched myself before I walked towards my room to take a bath before I heard a thud then a bunch of loud little thuds and growling. "What the.." I narrowed my eyes at the door as I quietly grabbed the emergency bat that was leaning near a book shelf before walking towards the door.

I peeked at the small slit of the door as I saw a hooded figure with glowing eyes. I pursed my lips as I tightly gripped the bat in my hands before I barge in with a yell.

Kicking the door open and quickly swinging the bat only to swing at nothing. "The heck? I thought I saw a figure somewhere.." the grip on the bat loosened as I turned to face at Cream

"What were you doing in my roo-  Cream!" I cut myself off as Cream was suddenly flung across the room by some unknown force.

"What the hec-" i was cut off as a bone pierced my arm as i gritted my teeth and  held my injured arm. "W-where are you?! Show yourself!" I yelled out as I heard a dark chuckle behind me before I quickly turned around as I let go of my injured arm and gripped the bat tightly as I swung it behind me only to hit on nothing.

Suddenly, something hard hit at the back of my head as I collapsed on the ground by the strong impact as black spots slowly formed in my vision before slowly passed out.

the only last thing I saw before passing out was Cream being thrown at a wall and getting dragged in a portal with me.

Suddenly, the atmosphere changed, and I felt fear..
