"Ms. Laurel." I heard my teacher call. My head sprung off the desk and I looked to see him standing directly in tbe front of my desk.

"Pardon?" I ask, taking my airpods out my ears.

"I've been calling you for the past minute. I asked you, to go to the board and draw an angle at p q, and label it r." He says, walking back to the front of the class.

"I'm going to save both your time and mines here, I have no idea on how to do that." I answered truthfully.

"Office." Was the only thing he said in response.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I picked up my bag and slung it over my shoulder, walking out the classroom to go on my 7th trip this week to the office. Its only Wednesday. I slip my airpods back in as i start making my way to the first floor.
As I came down the last set of stairs I saw Drew and Quincy, the star players of the volleyball team talking to someone I didn't recognize. As I walked closer, I realized they were doing more than talking. They were.. fighting?

I walked faster down the corridor when I saw Quincy throw a punch at the other who was now snatched against the lockers.

"HEY! What do you think you're doing!?" I shout, getting all of their attention. As I neared them I took my airpods out and tried to peel Quincy's grip off of the boy, but miserably failed.

"Quincy let him go." I demanded, looking Quincy in the eyes .

"Laurel go where you were going. This is none of your business."

"Oh? Well the video of all.. this, that I took while walking down here might just happen to be coach Matthews' business, no?" I said innocently, letting go of his hand and pulling out my phone.

"You have no video."

"We'll let Matthews decide if this is a video or not. Speaking of , I really should pay him a visit right now." I announced, putting my phone back in my pocket and beginning to walk off. I was stopped abruptly by a hand grasping tightly on my wrist.

"What do you want for it?" Drew finally spoke.

"Let the boy go and do not bother him anymore."

"Why's it such a big deal?"

"Why's the video such a big deal?" I counter questioned raising a brow.

Drew and Quincy both shared a look before Quincy abruptly dropped the boy, making him crash hard on the floor with a thud.

"Nice doing business with you." I waved as the pair walked away, Drew sticking up his middle finger at me.

I now turned my attention to the boy who was on the floor face down.

"I didn't go through alla that just for you to die on me. Get up." I said, folding my arms over my chest and looking down at him.

He slowly raised his head and gave me a small smile. I extended a hand to help him up to his feet and he accepted. I watched as he dust himself off, examining him.

"What did you not do for them?" I asked expectantly.

"What do you mean?"

"They only bother people who look like you when they don't give them what they want...no offense." I clarified as we began to walk down the corridor.

"They do it all the time for absolutely no reason.Been happening since I transferred."

"Oh my lord. Meatheads."

We walked in silence until I saw he began to slow down in the front of an English class.

"I guess this is where we part ways." He said softly.

"I guess this is. It was nice to ..well somewhat meet you.." i trailed off, waiting for a name.

"Wyatt."

"Yeah, Wyatt. I'm Mabel by the way." I said, shaking the hand he extended for me to shake.

"See you around." I waved as I walked off. Time to go back to the office now.

As I opened the door I was met with Adeline sitting behind the front desk.

"How may I-"

"Mabel what are you doing back in here?" She asked annoyed ,her country accent thick as she spoke.

"Didn't know how to draw an angle." I reply , plopping myself on the couch in front of her and getting comfortable.

"You need to start paying attention. Your mama is gonna think you spend more time in trouble than you do in class."

"If I stay out if trouble then you won't be graced with seeing my face twice a day, and I can't deprive you of such a privilege now can I?" I answered sweetly. I was smacked with a pillow straight in the face.

"Go to sleep." Adeline demanded.

"Gladly." I replied, smiling and shifting to a comfortable sleeping position.

Today drained me..I really have to stop the side missions.

"What happened this time?" Mama asked as we stepped into the house.

"Didn't know how to draw an angle." I answer, putting my bag down and going to get a water from the fridge.

"Oh lord, you know you have to buckle up your shoes young lady."

"I will. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a date with my bed." I answer, giving her a kiss on the forehead and going upstairs.
