the next morning jadon was wide awake around 8am staring at the ceiling. with his phone on his chest.
who is that girl.
christmas break meant that junior premier league was paused for the holiday season so jadon had about two weeks in london for christmas and new years.
he decided to call david to see if he knew sarah.
"dave? you know that girl sarah yesterday"
"who's sarah?"
"the two girls that were in uniform, the one i was with"
"oh yeah, manuelle's gyal - what about her?"
"you got any socials?"
"nah, i can ask 'elle tho- what you tryna do sanch" david asked in a michevous tone.
"nothin, she um left an earring behind er yesterday"
"sn sn - i'll get back to you if i can get anything"
"safe"
...
20 minutes later, david sent jadon a message on snapchat. it was sarah's snap : ezinnaenae.
that didn't sound like the name sarah, but maybe it was her middle name or something. he wanted to add her but he didn't want to seem like a creep especially as she had not given him the snap. fuck it - you only live once he thought and worse comes to worse he's back in manchester in two weeks so he won't bump into her.
...
ezinne was eating breakfast when a notification popped up on her phone
sanchoooo10 has added you as a friend.
"no way it's that boy, how did he get my snap?" she whispered.
"huh" her little brother said.
"nothing"
keys jangled and ezinne's heart dropped. she still hadn't given her mother a straight answer as to why she returned home at 8:00 pm when school finished at 12:30pm that day.
"morning" she said, trying to soften the blows of interrogation that would proceed.
"morning, where were you yesteday? i don't want to hear rubbish ezinne" her mother stated.
"honestly? i went to a party."
"why? i told you be home m, look after your sister, you are in year 11 your exams are coming up and you are becoming a grown woman. you need to learn to make better choices. it gets pitch dark outside by 4, my 9 year old is in the house by herself and my 15 is galavanting around london."
"sorry"
"give me your phone"
"bu-"
"give me your phone"
ezinne reluctantly handed over her iphone to her mother, no idea when she could get it back and no idea when she could add that boy back.
...
she decided to knuckle down and get some homework revision done. her mum was right she was in year 11 - she needed to get her head down so she could get the grades she wanted. it was also christmas time and didn't want to get on her mothers bad side.
