joey

Deodorant, bra, panties, tampons, and never forget, condoms!

I was kidding about the condoms, it's toothbrush and toothpaste, doofus.

Blue started blasting the 1975's album and we were singing and dancing along their songs. I've seen them live before, I was there, but didn't finish the show because I have to leave early.

"Matty Healy is hot! Have you seen him singing while drinking?!" I head banged and jumped up and down as Robbers started to play. Blue nodded and beamed, "They're the band who never loses their British accent which is orgasm!" Blue chuckled, my eyes widen.

"Did you just say orgasm?" I mumbled as she gasped.

"I'm sorry-"

"True!" I screamed as I pushed her and she fell on her (or my) bed. We heard a knock from the door, it was probably mom. Blue stood up and opened the door, it wasn't mom, it was Jonah.

I ran to Jonah and hugged him tightly, I haven't seen him for 5 years. He got taller and stronger (and hotter). We pulled away and I look at him.

Damn son.

All I remember was, this kid was a nerd, bookworm, not buff, just normal kid who wears glasses. But bam, puberty hit him like a bus, like there's no tomorrow. He smiled at me, "What's up, Jo?"

"Jonah. You've grown up, wow." I mumbled as I looked at his body.

Hot damn.

"You too! And you have long hair now, what happened to Dora Joey?" He asked, smirked. I smacked his arm and pinched his cheeks, "Dora Joey doesn't exist anymore!" I said with a sarcastic tone.

"Aw." He mumbled, "Dora Joey, you'll be missed."

"Shut up, Jonah." I said as I rolled my eyes and looked at Blue, "So, do you guys know each other?" They both smiled and nodded. I looked at them weirdly, is there something between them?

Oh no.

"Are you guys like-"

"No, no, no! We're in the same bookclub. I mean, I'm too young for him so." Blue interrupted as she bit her lips, "I mean, yeah, we're close but not dating."

"Ouch." Jonah mumbled, Blue and I exchanged looks and laughed at him. Blue and I started packing again, ignored Jonah, he was playing Dragon City on his phone. I looked at Blue's duffel bag, it was full of clothes and books, while mine, full of clothes and foods. You know, midnight snack.

-

Jonah, Blue, and I ate dinner with mom and we started talking about life. Jonah just had his first job as an video game designer, he told us that he enjoyed his job so much, he even thinks that he's not working, he's playing and having fun instead. He gets his salary monthly, and it's 400 dollars. It's pretty big because, of course. He works in a video game center. Blue talked about their bookclub, where the two of them met, I can say that they both like each other but they're just afraid to tell what they feel to each other. Blue studying in college already, or Uni for short, in fact, she's a scholar.

Then there's me.

Talking about how tiring my job is. My job is to guard people and teach the people fencing, to be specific, famous or someone from the government. Alright, I'm a girl but I love action movies and also unicorns. They talked about positive things in their life, while mine, negative.

"Is that why you left Doncaster?" Blue interrupted and I nodded, "Why didn't you get a job like that here? So, you can stay instead."

Because of him.

"My salary is pretty much bigger in LA and I always go there so I stayed there instead." I took a bite of my steak and she nodded. Jonah looked at me and gave me 'is-that-really-the-reason-why' look. I shook my head and mouthed, "I'll tell you later."

"Jonah, can you please hand me the mash potatoes?" Mom beamed at him, to break the silence. I looked down on my phone, my landlord, who is also my friend, has been texting me. There's a rule here where you can't text or call in your phone, any phone activities. Jonah nodded and gave her the bowl of mash potatoes.

We finished our dinner and we were full that it made me keep on burping. I stood up and cleaned the table, "I'll clean the dishes."

"I'll help, besides, Joey and I have to talk about something." Jonah interrupted and grabbed the other plates. We both went to the kitchen to wash the dishes but I accidentally dropped one on the plastic cup, "You're still clumsy." Jonah chuckled and I gave him a look.

I started to wash the dishes, I told him to wipe the dishes. "So, is it really because of the higher salary or just because of him?"

I looked at him, still washing the dishes, "Sort of. We both promised to stay away. You know. The fight."

"Alrighty, but it's been 5 years, Joey. I mean, you might see him here in Manchester but what if you walked pass by him? You should say hi because he might think that you haven't still move on, he talked to me the other day, and he told me that he already moved on so." Jonah wiped the plate and cup, "You should talk to him."

"I don't know, Jonah. Whatever. Let's wash the dishes or else I will throw this plate on your head." I said as I pointed him the plate that I was washing. He giggled and looked at the window in front of us, "He's there. He's there, Joey!"

"Who? Him?" I looked out at the window and checked if he's really there. Does he look the same? Fringed Louis? Or hot louis? Did puberty even hit him? Or nah? Or none of the above?

Thoughts, they're crazy.

"Okay, gotcha! He wasn't really there, I just wanna see if you want to see him." He winked at me, damn son.

"Screw you, Clayton." I gave him a look and ignored him talking about his corny jokes and about him as in him.

It's actually weird that I miss him.

Him, I mean by, Louis Tomlinson. My childhood best friend. My friend for 18 years, until that fight. I shook off my thoughts, continued washing the plates, and laugh with Jonah.
