1: Beginnings: Rose

My name is Midori Kanna. I'm a second year at Akai Private High School for girls. My favorite color is pink and my favorite activites include, taking walks in the spring and going shopping! School is alright and all, I can't help but doze off in class, it's so boring! Especially Math class! I can't stand math...all those numbers...and I gave up when letters started making apperances!

"Midori-chan, are you still with us?" Niiko-sensei said, her eyes glued on Me."

I opened my eyes, a yawn escaping my mouth. I had been asleep..again. "H-huh?...oh! Um yes! I'm awake!" I called out, louder then I meant to.

Nikko-sensei just sighed and shook her head. "Try to stay away, please." She corrected me, getting back to the lesson. All my classmates were looking at me and laughing, how embaressing. I let out a sigh, and slammed my face down into my desk.

After what seemed like years, school finally had ended.

"You're always falling asleep." My friend, Taro said, looking over at me. Taro was my childhood friend, growing up we always played together.
"I know, but I can't help it." I whined, holding my school, bag tightly in my hand.

"You should really try to get more sleep, Kanna." He told me, giving me a smile before we went our separate ways.

I sighed, making my way home. I don't stay up late, I go to bed at 9:30 every night, I just can't stand math class is all. What else is there to do besides stare at that board for hours! It makes me so sleepy!

Suddenly I tripped over some kind of animal.

"GAH!" I cried out as I fell face first into the pavement. "Ow..." I groaned as I stood up and rubbed my face. What did I trip on....I looked around and my eyes stopped on a small white rabbit with sparkling red eyes. "What...a rabbit?" This rabbit had a red bow tied around its neck. "Where did you come from?" I asked with a chuckle before standing up.

"Kanna-chan....you're the chosen..."

I blinked before shaking my head. Huh...did that rabbit just...No way, I'm totally seeing things right now.

"You didn't- Did you just talk?" I asked the rabbit, scratching my head.

"I am talking to you, you're not hearing things!" The rabbit said, looking up at me with here red eyes.

"HUH.....HUH!!!????" I cried out.

"Hey! Keep it down! People will stare if you yell suddenly!" The rabbit corrected me, looking around. "Come on, we have to go somewhere more private." The bunny hopped off and I followed for some reason.

One we were in the woods behind the neighborhood, the rabbit spoke again.

"Allow me to explain everything. My name is Mei. I'm a citizen of Alyvnia. Kanna listen to me. You are the warrior chosen to use the power of The Life Force Emerald and defend life on Earth!"

Everything this rabbit just said went right through my head. What the what!? Emerald? Warrior...what the...

"What are you...talking about?"

Mei-chan sighed. "I know its a lot to take in. There's a sorceress called Jayde that wants the Emerald for herself to plunge Earth into an enteral dark and colorless despair. She knows how powerful Life Energy is, and she is trying to gather as much of it as possible! There are 2 other girls around your age I still need to find, they will help you defend the Emerald and stop Jayde before she has the opportunity to carry out her plan."

I just stared at the rabbit. "I-....Is this really happening..."

"Here..take this. It's a shard from the Emerald. You're powers will awaken inside of you if you use this." *The rabbit had a small green gem shard on a silver ring form out of the air and drop in Kanna's hand. "Put this on your finger and wish to transform."
