Matthew was turning 1 and Leah was turning six
Since their birthday was only a couple weeks apart they decided to have a joint party
Erin=Leah, are you excited for your birthday party today?
Leah=Yes, Mommy! I can't wait to see all of my friends and play games.
Jay:l=And what about you, Matthew? Are you excited for your first birthday party?
Matthew: *giggles*
Erin=I'll take that as a yes.
Leah=Mommy, can I help you decorate the cake?
Erin: =Of course, sweetheart. What color frosting do you want to use?
Leah=Pink, please!
Jay=And what about you, Matthew? What's your favorite color?
Matthew: *gurgles*
Erin=I don't think he has a favorite color yet, Jay.
Jay=Well, I like blue. Maybe we can use blue frosting for his smash cake.
Erin: That's a good idea. I'll make sure to get some blue food coloring.
Leah: Daddy, can you help me make a birthday card for Matthew?
Jay: Of course, Leah. What do you want to draw?
Leah: I want to draw a picture of us playing together.
Erin: That's so sweet, Leah. Matthew is lucky to have such a loving big sister.
Leah: "I love my little brother!"
Jay: "And we love both of our children. Today is going to be a great day!"
He sat at the table with Leah while she was making the birthday card
Later on at the party...
Leah=This is the best birthday party ever! Thank you, Mommy and Daddy!
Matthew: *claps his hands*
Kim=this party is great
Stella=yeah y'all did great on this
Jay=thanks guy
Leah was running around playing with all her friends having the time of her life
Erin=I'm glad you're having fun, Leah. And look at Matthew, he's having a great time too.
Jay=I think he likes the bounce house the most.
Matthew was wobbling around
Leah=Can we go on the slide again, Daddy?
Jay=Sure thing, Leah. Let's go!
Erin=I'll stay here with Matthew and watch him crawl around.
Matthew: *crawls towards Erin*
Erin0You're such a cutie, Matthew. Happy first birthday!
Matthew: *giggles*
Jules finally showed up
Erin=hey Jules
Jules=hey erin where's leah
Erin=she's sliding right now
After the party...
Leah=I can't believe the party is over already. I had so much fun!
Jay=We did too, Leah. And Matthew had a great time too, didn't you buddy?
Matthew: *yawns*
Erin=I think it's time for bed for Matthew
Jay=little man already out that fast
Erin=he sure is
She went to put him to bed leaving Jay sitting on the couch with leah
Jay=I'm glad you had fun at your party
Leah=thank you it was so fun and my other daddy came
Jay=I know I saw him
Leah=you know I used to be scared of having two dads but now I'm really happy about it
Jay=I'm glad because you know me and Jules love you so much and would do anything for you
Leah=I know daddy I love you to
Jay=alright how about we go to sleep
Leah=yeah I'm tired
He went and tucked her to bed

Erin=so I believe it is safe to say today was a success
Jay=yes it was
Erin=oh but I am exhausted
Jay=me too
Erin=I'm glad that Jules came
Jay=yeah you when you went to put Matthew to sleep leah told me that at first she was scared to ha he two dads but now she really loves it
Erin=that's so great, I'm glad she's warmed up him and just to everything
Jay=yeah life is pretty great huh
