A Berry Collector Flurry

I closed my eyes and I felt the tug. I walked toward the tugging. I didn't realize I had traveled so far because when I opened my eyes, I was alone in the forest. Closing my eyes again, I felt the tug growing stronger. I walked some more and suddenly the tugging stopped.

Opening my eyes I saw a fox. It's fur a lightish orange. "Who - who are you?" the fox said, fear in her eyes. "I'm the queen, why are you here all alone?" "Mom's going to get something." "How come you are not at the feast?" "Mom doesn't want to go, I don't know why."

"Flurry," said a voice, "Come on." "Moms calling me, bye queen." Flurry said. "Wait," I said, "Let me come with you." "Ok."

"There you are Flurry. Who is this with you?" said Flurry's mom. "She is the queen! Isn't she pretty?" said Flurry. "Oh yes. Sorry for my pup. Let me introduce myself, my name is Rabbit. If you want to know, I got my name because I hopped around like a rabbit after I was born." "It's a pleasure to meet you, but why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at the feast?" "I'm sorry, but Flurry got into a thistle bush, and I had to take care of her." "It's ok. I need to talk to you about something though."

I walked a little bit away from Flurry so she wouldn't hear us. "Flurry is very lucky for who she is." "She is?" said Rabbit, sounding surprised. "It is very hard to understand, but she is going to be the berry collector." "What! She can't be!" "She will be staying with me so I can teach her what I know." "But how do you know she's going to do it?" "Something was tugging at me and it led me here." "I understand, it is a great honor that she is going to be a berry collector. You may have her."

"Thank you, she will only stay with me a little while, then she will move to my old den. You will be able to visit her as much as you want." "Thank you!" said Rabbit, "Flurry come here, you will be staying with Queen Wildflower for now." "But why?" she said. "I'll explain everything in a little bit." I said, "Come with me."

I turned to Rabbit and said, "You can see Flurry later, when I call for you. I won't be too long." "Alright, bye Flurry, make sure to be good. Thank you Queen Wildflower. I will see you later at the feast." "Goodbye."

Rabbit turned and started walking away. I heard her murmur saying, "Queen Wildflurry, that's a pretty name."

"Come on Flurry, we're going to have some fun." "Ok, what are we going to do?" "Going to eat." "Do they have rabbit? Not that I would want to eat my mom." I laughed, "I think we do." We walked for a little while until we heard where the feast was going on. "This way!" I said. "Wow," said Flurry as we arrived, "So much food!" "I'm going to be over there," gesturing to Arrow. "Ok, see you later!"

Flurry disappeared and I started walking back to Arrow. Oops, forgot to get some squirrel to eat. I grabbed a squirrel, checking to see if it was a good one. Nice blood, fresh caught, now let's get to Arrow.
