This is my first Wattpad story. Please feel free to like and comment on my work. My goal is to release one chapter every week. Enjoy!

Wind whipped through the choppers wings. It had been less than a week since I received a letter from my father. He stated that there was no service where he was at, hence the letter, but he wanted to meet me at a new dig site he started.

Unimaginable artifacts have been found here and I want to share this discovery with you Vivian, my father wrote.

I hugged my letter and looked out the chopper window. I always hated heights, but was excited to help my dad out.

A big shot must have bought the new island since these coordinates don't point to a named island on any map, I thought while I looked down at the letter and back out the window again. I always felt dizzy on flights. The motion sickness medicine I took earlier hadn't kicked in yet.

Huge Pacific Ocean waves crashed below while the shadow of our chopper zipped along.

"Hey do you see that?" I heard the co-pilot ask the chief pilot.

I turned my head to an angle to look at what they were talking about.

Ahead of our chopper, about a mile out, a cloud swirled above us and a water started to suck up into the clouds.

"It's a waterspout," the chief pilot said and tilted the helicopter. "We'll go around it."

My head swung with the sway of the helicopter. I looked out the window once again and heard a sickening sound enter my eardrums.

Alarms started screaming in the helicopter and I felt my hips come off the seat only to be caught by my seatbelt. My hands clenched my little seat while the helicopter dropped weightlessly in the air a few more times. The chopper spun a couple times before the pilot evened the chopper out for an escape. I looked to my left to see the archaeology visitor manager that came with me. He gripped his seat harder than I did.

"I see land over there!" I heard the co-pilot yell over the screaming alarms.

"Hang on to your seats and prepare for a water landing," the pilot yelled.

The waterspout came closer and I felt water spray onto my face. The helicopter started to spin again while we headed down. The gravity blurred my vision and plugged my ears. Everything went black.

The first thing I heard was the lull of the ocean. The next thing I noticed was a tug on my arm. I was pulled to the beach and set down gently on the warm sand. A gentle hand pulled my spider-webbed hair off of my face to get a better look at me. A blurred silvery-skin color greeted me along with turquoise eyes.

This beautiful creature turned its head once shouting could be heard in the distance and it ran away from me. I wanted to reach my arm up to touch its blurry face, but my body was too tired to move from the trauma of the helicopter wreck. This creature just saved my life.

I don't know exactly how long I stayed sprawled out my back for. I felt the gentle warmth of the setting sun dry the water off of my drenched skin and clothes. I forcefully turned my body sideways and propped myself up on my right arm to look around me.

White and brown sand with seashells littered the beach I was pulled up on. Some large metal pieces washed ashore near me from the helicopter and other pieces were impaled the sand. I gripped the sand in my hand and turned to hear a noise in the distance.

"Dad?" I asked quietly.

I lifted my legs to roll onto my knees and palms. My whole body felt numb. I needed to get up and investigate the noise. Maybe I can find those who were with me on the helicopter, I thought and pushed myself up onto my feet. I felt some sand escape off my palms while I stood up straight to go and look around.

A beautiful tune entered my ears and relaxed my aching body. Music? I thought and turned my gaze to a small lagoon nearby. I caught my feet practically walking by themselves to the beautiful teal water. The music stopped once I got close to the lagoon.

"Hello?" I asked and felt the pain return back to my body.

I crouched and wrapped my arms around my stomach. It was as if I could feel where the helicopter seat belt yanked me around. A ripple of water came up close to me and a head slowly withdrew from the water.

I backed up from my crouch and fell back down on the soft dirt below.

The figure put both of his hands on a rock nearby to pull himself a little bit out of the water to get a better look at me. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." he said and looked at me with worry in his eyes.

I sat up and looked at him over my knees. He had the same beautiful silver-white skin and turquoise eyes. His long beautiful black hair floated in the lagoon behind him.

He turned his palm over to face me as if to offer his hand to help me up. "Are you alright? I tried to get you out of the water as quick as I could."

"You saved me?" I said in a dry voice. The saltwater must have dried out my throat. I sat up straight and he put his hand back on the rock.

"I'd hardly call it a save, you probably would have washed to shore like the other materials, but you were stuck to the heavy chair. I had to get you out of your restraint. Were you a captive?"

"Restraint?" I asked. Does he mean the seat belt? I thought. "I was not a captive, the restraint is used to keep people safe. Do you know where my friends are?"

"Keep people safe? You were about to drown from the weight of your restraint. I had to rip it off to get you above the water. You have friends? I did not see anyone else near you. Perhaps they are nearby sleeping."

I stood up from my position and grimaced at my own pain. "I need to find them. Is there an archaeology expedition or phone nearby?" I asked.

"I think you should sit and rest for a bit. It should help with your pain." the stranger said and patted a rock next to him.

His gentle demeanor coaxed me closer to him. I felt comforted and walked closer to him. I almost sat down, but my head popped up in response to screams nearby.

I turned my head and saw tall figures in hooded robes running toward us. A spear flew past me to the new friend I made before he went for a dive under the water. I turned to run away from the figures, but my body ached too much to outrun them. Long strong arms wrapped around me before I could escape into the palm tree forest on the island.
