I wriggled my numb fingers. I must have been hanging for a while since my hands were red and my body felt heavier than normal. I slowly attempted to lift my legs up, but I was too weak to move.

Water sloshed nearby and I watched while Heathe crawled out of the water dome and landed on his feet on the beach. He carried a large trident with him and was heading straight for Edric.

Proteus and Maxwell watched events unfold from the water.

Edric had his back towards Heathe while Edric focused on getting to me.

"Heathe's behind you!" I yelled at Edric.

Edric turned around just in time to lift his sword and parry Heathe's trident.

Ben started to crawl closer to me. He pulled out the chloroform cloth he used on me earlier.

I used all the strength I had and raised a leg to kick Ben back. He fell back and grabbed on to some rope holding the sails for support.

A loud crack sounded above me.

My heart stopped and I looked up to see the top of the mast holding me snap.

My adrenaline kicked in and everything moved in slow motion.

Ben's eyes looked horrified while I fell. I turned my gaze to see that Heathe and Edric both watched me in horror.

The broken mast flipped around me and went through bundles of rope connected to the corner of a sail near the side railing of the ship.

A sharp yank pulled me into the rope along with the broken top of the mast.

I was saved, but in incredible pain and captivity once again.

I felt rope burn along multiple parts of my body from the harsh landing. My hands were still tied to the rope connected to the top of the mast.

Loud clashes sounded closer to me now. Heathe and Edric continued to fight. I looked up and saw Ben start to climb down the sails of the ship.

I need to get out of this mess and fast, I thought to myself.

I pushed my achy body closer to the broken mast and pulled the rope connected to the broken mast.

     The rope wouldn't untie.

I wrapped the mast around my legs and pulled the rope off of the mast.

Ben hopped onto the deck of the ship and started to run towards me.

There's no way I'd be able to untangle myself from the ropes in time. I looked over to Edric.

Edric swung his sword and broke the top of the trident off.

I beard multiple footsteps on the wood race towards me.

Ben was almost to me with his chloroform cloth.

I watched as Edric's foot connected with Ben's side and he went flying over the rail of the ship.

Heathe almost did the same to Edric, but he ducked right in time.

Heathe ran right for me and put the spear tip up against my neck.

I gently pried off a broken piece of wood from the mast I pulled myself from. Even though my hands are tied, I might be able to stab Heathe with this grisly piece of wood if I get the chance, I thought.

"Leave us and I'll let her go," Heathe told Edric.

"I won't let you take her anywhere," Edric said.
