"You were there! You let them murder her!" Jingliu cried, pain in her inconsolable voice as she threw the scrolls from her desk. Setting a fire with the candles that burned beneath her.

In such a rage, she could not even feel it. "I want them gone. All of them!" She roared, slamming her fist upon the desk.

"I can't-"

Pinching his cheeks between her hands she looked at him with shrunken pupils, an insanity weaving in her words, "Can't? Or won't."

"I will kill Y/N. With so many people after them for the rest of their lives that you will beg me on the floor for such mercy again. Their broken body will be thrown before you, unrecognizeable and mangled!" Throwing his face away from her, he barely supports himself. Staring up at the woman he once revered as a valiant hero.

Following wordlessly as an entire army was brought to the mansion of the minister, to execute the entire estate. It would not be a peaceful end as Jingliu in her delusions of justice barged into the main hall, sitting upon the minister's chair. She leaned back, fully embracing this role she was 'forced' to play.

Forcing her soldiers to drag before her- the members of the retched clan. Visceral disdain in her eyes as her tearstained bloodied eyes trailed above their fallen forms.

"Princess! What have we done to encourage your wrath?"

"Please have mercy!"

"Mercy!"

Deaf to the pleads of the minister's family, with a flick of her wrist they were executed one by one.

"There will be not a trace of your clan after tonight." Closing her eyes and raising her chin indignantly. The cries of desperation as the minister's clan were dragged to their deaths echoing beneath her.

Jing Yuan could only watch as the family began to reach for one another through the blinding agony. Their eyes covered; all they could hear were the sounds of slaughter. Your father clung tightly to the hand of his beloved, offering their shaken form a bit of comfort.

Jingliu saw the act of compassion, as her nostrils flared with distraught pain. How could they be together even in death, when she could not?

"Separate them."

"Master-"

"I am to become the crown princess, no longer am I reduced to your master- Keeper of a desolate fort, or second best to anyone!" Throwing her hand towards him, she draws her blade.

Deciding to do it herself, she rips your father from his beloved's embrace. Him screaming and crying for her as Jingliu brings her sword down upon the broken couple.

Your father's hand twitches once before falling to the ground. Thunder, sanctioned by the heavens begins a raging storm. The sins washing off of Jingliu's dark sword as she distantly plucks the blade from his chest.

"Never let your weapon slip. Or it will be you who lays dead instead of them. Am I understood, Jing Yuan?"

Staring into her unfamiliar gaze, he could not bring himself to audibly agree. Bowing before her as she tossed the bloodied sword before him, all the blood diluted with the endless sorrows of the heavens.

It was not until your visage was seen from the corner of his eyes, being held back by all the guards that could stop you, that he froze.

"Jing Yuan!" You cried out, disbelief in your fraught expression. Reaching a hand to him past the horde of guards as you desperately pried their arms off you. Clamoring back onto you like vines, you could not break through.
