"Fuck... My head..."
Jean woke up to a splitting headache, He grumbled as he sluggishly crawled out of bed and wobbled over to the kitchen, as he opened the fridge a cold breeze hit him making him shiver. "What to eat... What to eat..." Jean said to himself as he browsed the fridge. He glanced over to the clock sitting on the counter, It read 8:03.
"S-Shit! I'm late!" Jean ran out the kitchen, dashing into his bedroom and scrambling around his closet to find his clothes. He quickly grabbed a white collar shirt, grey suit and a red tie. Rushing to put them on as he scurried to the bathroom and coming his hair into a slicked back look.
He slipped on his shoes and grabbed his keys as rushed out the door of his apartment.
As he was leaving the building, rain poured. "Shit." He looked to see how far his car was from the apartment, 'Thank god I parked close...' Jean thought to himself, he looked around to see if any cars were pulling out and made a run for it. Sprinting through the rain as he covered his head with his arms.
He finally got to his car, unlocking it and getting in before he got rained on any longer. He shivered and sighed as he started the car. As he sat out of breath he closed his eyes as he slowly calmed down. His eyes shot open as he remembered:
"I'm late!" He quickly backed out of the parking spot and started to drive off to his work.
He sat in his car blasting Queen as he drove through loads of traffic. "IS THIS THE REAL LIFE? IS THIS JUST FANTASY~" He sang his heart out, You could probably hear the music from the sidewalk. As he was joyfully singing he looked to his side to see a beautiful woman looking at him and laughing. He stopped as a red blush came to his face out of embarrassment. The light finally turned green as he sped off.
"Damn it I'm such a dork.." He muttered to himself still embarrassed about the last situation. He slowly turned down the volume as he finally arrived to work.
He stepped out of the car and ran to the building once again avoiding the rain. He stepped into the warm building and sighed.
"Forgot your umbrella huh?" Jean's crush Malena stood gracefully next to him, shaking out her umbrella. "O-Oh hey Malena! Uh- y-yea..." Jean's face started to blush a light pink. Malena giggled, "Well I have to head over to my floor, shall we go?" Jean just stood there looking at her. "Jean?" She waved a hand in front of his face. "Huh? O-Oh! Right."
They both walked into the elevator and stood in silence.
After awhile of awkward quietness Jean finally started "Hey can I ask you-" Malena cut him off, "This is my floor! You can tell me later right Jean?" He sighed as she stepped out of the elevator. "Right.." Malena waved as the doors closed behind her.
Jean closed his eyes "One of these days...." he huffed as the elevator opened, sluggishly stepping onto his floor. He walked over to his cubical and sat down.
"Jesus you look like shit!" A younger man with bright red hair peaked his head over the wall of the cubical. "Nice to see you too, Nori." Jean weakly chuckled. Noriyaki huffed, "Stop calling me that! It sounds like you're calling me 'Seaweed'!" Jean scoffed "Your suit looks like seaweed." Noriyaki gasped in an offended manner. "How dare you! Jotaro do you think my suit looks like seaweed?"
Another young man in a cubical across from Jean's, spun his chair around to face them. "Good grief, will you to stop bickering and get back to work?" Jotaro sighed as he pulled his chair back. "Yeah, yeah." Noriyaki rolled his eyes and sat back in his chair.
Jean slouched in his chair as he pouted, waiting for a phone call. 'One day I'm gonna ask her out. One of these-'
His thoughts completely scattered the second he felt a big warm hand touch his shoulder, making him almost jump out of his seat. "Eep!" Jean exclaimed. "Sorry to scare you." A deep smooth voice said. "A-Ah it's alright-" He turned his head around to see a tall handsome dark skinned man towering over him. His face got hotter and hotter the more he stared in awe. "Are you alright?" He bent down to him now eye level. "U-Uh- Yes! Yes. Sorry." The taller man chuckled.
"It's fine, I don't think I properly introduced myself, I am Muhammad Avdol, your new boss." Jean fully turned around and started to speak but couldn't get anything out. "And you....?" Muhammed said, raising an eyebrow. "Right! I'm Jean Pierre Polnareff." Avdol grabbed his hand and shook it with a warm smile on his face. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Polnareff."
"Nice to meet you too...." He finally gained his composure and shook back smiling. Once Muhammad left, Jean spun his chair back to his desk and put his head in his hands. "What the hell was that? I made a total fool of myself, in front of my new boss too!" He whined to himself. "Jeez.... That's rough..." Noriyaki peaked his head in, "Tell me about it... I totally embarrassed myself." Jean rested his chin on his hands and sighed. "I'm sure it's alright though! I've talked with Mr. Avdol before, he's really nice!" Noriyaki said, trying to lighten the mood.
Jean whined and threw himself back, "I sure hope so! He look's fuckin scary!" Noriyaki chuckled, "My? Could it be? The great Jean Pierre Polnareff is intimidated by his new boss?" He announced mockingly. "Haha. Very funny. Now get back to printing papers!" Noriyaki groaned and rolled his eyes "When have you told anyone to work?" He said as he walked away.
Jean hid his head in his arms and his face went red. 'Way to make a first impression Jean! Goddamn, You look like a mess and act like a mess! This day as been terrible!' He thought to himself. "Hey Jean! Why the long face?" Jean turned around and looked up to see his coworker Hol Horse, Who was looking down at him with a bright smile. "You're looking at the guy who just made a fool of himself in front of his new boss."
"Ouch! That's too bad buddy, Good thing he said I seem like a nice guy." Jean rolled his eyes. "Lucky you. What did you need again?" Jean huffed. "I was just wondering if you wanted to grab a drink after work with me and Daniel." Jean spun his chair around to face Hol Horse. "Sure why the hell not, I need a distraction from this disastrous day anyways..." Hol Horse laughed loudly, "That's the spirit! See you then JP!" Hol Horse left to go print papers.
Jean frowned 'JP? What a stupid nickname.' He thought.
