There's this time when nothing's wrong yet nothing's right. When everything seems pointless. A feeling where you keep falling deep down somewhere and you are tired of acting strong. When finally your fake walls break down and you need somebody. Somebody to hold you and tell you that you will make it out alive.

He had saved her for another night.

As his strong arm wrapped itself around her she couldn't help but think. His touch was devoid of lust and greed. It was gentle but it promised her something.

Safety.

She had to be insane to be feeling safe in the arms of an unknown man she thought. But it was something which told her that he was sailing in the same boat. Human tendency to act you are alright alone but in reality you crave for somebody. Somebody who wouldn't judge you despite your mistakes and will accept you with your flaws. She snuggled back to his chest. Still staring outside, listening to the drumming of the rain she wished the night would never end.

It was 6 in the morning she opened her eyes groggily. She turned around to find the bed empty. But her eyes zeroed on something. A red rose this time with fresh few drops on the same book which he had thrown on the floor yesterday night, a folded piece of paper and his flawless handwriting.

"Thanks Cupcake."

A smile caused her lips to tug up sweetly. Looking at the watch she got up. But before bathing she went to the kitchen. Digging through stuff she finally managed to take out a tiny glass bottle. Cleaning it up she filled it with water and cut the long stem of the flower. Finally popping it in the bottle she placed it on the window sill near her bed. Giving it one last satisfied glance she hurried to clean herself up.

It was sharp at eight that she reached the Thappar mansion. Mr. Thappar greeted her at the door. The only difference was that it was much more professional that her last visit. It was his simple gesture to convey her that it's strictly business. Not that she had a problem with it.

He guided her to Agrim's room and after informing her about important things she would need he left. The child moved his eyes in her direction and giggled which instantly made her smile. He got up and tried to push the chair aside consequently falling on his bum. She laughed at him. Moving to him she scooped him up and kissed him on the cheek.

"There you naughty boy!" She held him higher and smiled at him. She scrunched her nose after smelling him.

"We need to change you baby!" As if irritated he whined a little looking at her curiously.

"Brum...brum.." He took out wierd noises rolling his adorable lips.

She then moved with him to the washroom and searched for his nappies in the wooden cabinet. After finding them she cleaned up the fussy child and secured a new nappie around his cute little bum. Sprinkling some nice smelling baby powder all over him she sat him on the shelf opposite the huge mirror. Entertained by his reflection he hit his tiny hands in the mirror and let out a sprinkle of giggles making her laugh out loud.

"Oh my! Whose that clean little baby there?!" She talked to him combing his hair neatly.

Having sat on the shelf enough long as if bored he suddenly stood up. Before he could fall she grasped him.

"Agrim!" She spoked to him alarmed.

He was two years old as Mr. Thappar had told her and he was very agile. He had just learnt to form words and she could hear him blabber constantly! The entire day she spent running after him. He just wouldn't get tired and he way way curious for his age.

"Mr. Thappar was right! You're hands full Agrim!" She squeezed his nose lovingly when he poured the entire bottle of sauce on his bib while eating. Wiping his mouth after he had eaten some food with difficulty she changed his clothes and took him to his playroom which opened to a huge beautiful garden. It was then she took a glance at the mansion.

"Not even a single picture of the family in the house." She frowned finding it wierd. His playroom was painted in different vibrant shades. Even though it was full of numerous toys he had interest only in one in particular which he kept safe with him almost everywhere.

A soldier teddy. A little big for Agrim to carry he dragged it everywhere with him. She had had a tough time feeding him for he wouldn't leave the huge stuff toy adamant to hold it on his lap.

Playing with the teddy be kept on mumbling something. Curious she scooped him up and flicked his nose.

"Papa!" He pointed at the teddy and gave her a smile.

She was curious to know where his parents were. Who leaves their child with some unknown person she thought. Her chain of thoughts was broken when Mr. Thappar entered the playroom.

"I have some work and I have to go out. Why don't both of you accompany me. There's a small park near to where I'm going. It'll be a nice change for Agrim too. He can play there." She nodded and headed with Agrim to his room. After packing up the essentials he would need she headed out with Mr. Thappar.

He was exceptionally quiet. Thinking it's not in her place to question him she just sat and looked at Agrim.

"I'll pick you guys in an hour or so."

The driver dropped them at the park and drove off with Mr. Thappar. Agrim was exceptionally happy running around with enthusiasm! She looked at the child and smiled sadly. She felt tears prick her eyes. Only if she could erase that horrible night from her life once and for all.

He came running to her and threw his tiny arms around her large to hug her. Holding her finger he made feeble attempts to pull her with him.

"Amu..agu...run!" He spoke. She couldn't help but feel her heart brim with live at the little baby.

"Run!" She said and ran with him trotting behind her. His careless giggles filled the area along with filling the emptiness in her heart.

She picked him up and wiggled him up in the air chuckling. She looked at her watch and it was almost 2 hours now. Mr. Thappar hadn't come back. It was getting dark and the park was almost empty. She picked up the stuff along with the child and sat on the bench waiting.

Boom!

She heard the crackling voice and something hit the armrest of the bench. Smell of gunpowder spread around. Mortified she shot up. The child started wailing. She held him tight and made a dash towards the tree for cover. Midway somebody through their body on theirs and they fell down. He covered them and shot in the opposite direction.

"Get up! Go behind the trees!" Kabir shouted.

Trembling she stood up and ran with Agrim. It was a good twenty minutes and after hearing God knows how many shots plus the blaring sirens of the cop cars their was silence. Kabir ran towards them.

"Are you guys alright!?"

"Kabir! This is enough! Stop stalking me! The child could have gotten killed today!" She screamed a little breathless stepping back and turning a little towards the side to give Agrim more cover as if afraid that Kabur would harm him.

"This is no joke! Just leave me alone!"

Agrim cried more and turned his head towards Kabir. And then something unusual happened. The child almost jumped out of Amrita's arms towards Kabir and cried.

"Papa!"

In an instant Kabir almost snatched the baby from her arms and crushed him in a tight embrace.

"Agrim! I'm right here. Sshhh.."

Bewildered her eyes bore into him.

Agrim was Kabir's son.
