The last bell of the day rang throughout the school and Emily and I walked out the door.

"I thought that class would never end," I said as we stopped at my locker.

"Why? It was interesting," Emily replied.

"Interesting? Mr. Whojamaface practically taught us an hour long story. He didn't teach us anything about English 101."

"Well I thought his "hour long story" was very interesting."

I put my hand on my hip and looked at her,"He told us about the American Revolution, which is something we learned about in the 4th grade! Not to mention, that is history not English."

I closed my locker and walked with Emily to hers. Once she was done, I walked towards the parking lot and Emily left to find the others at the football bleachers.

After school, all 6 of us would sit down and talk at the bleachers. Well, all of us would talk over the screaming voices of Cody and Jennifer. I couldn't on Mondays, Wesnesdays, and Thursdays because I babysit my older sister's little boy named Blake.

As I walked to my car, I dug through my purse, which I also use as a book bag, to get my keys. By the time I had reached my car, I found the keys and unlocks my silver Jeep.

"Hey, Amanda," a voice startled me and I turned around to see who it was. Jake Meyers.

"Oh! Hi, Jake," I said, a little confused.

"Uh, how are you?" he replied nervously.

"I'm doing okay, little upset."

"Why's that?"

"I was planning on turning over a new leaf and being early to school this year, but that leaf was nailed to the ground and didn't turn over."

We both laughed and I spoke up,"So what do you need?"

"Well, I uh..wanted to ask you something actually."

"Sure, ask away."

"Um, I wanted to know...if you're not busy...would you like to go see a movie with me this Friday?"

"Sure, I'd love to!"

"Great! I'll pick you up at 7!"

We then said our goodbyes and I got into my car and drove off. I let out all of the air I was holding in ever since he talked to me. On the road, 'Jake Meyers' was all I could think. He never seemed like the kind of guy to be interested in me.

I stopped at a four way stoplight and looked all ways before going. A green pickup truck slammed to a stop just as I was passing and my eyes grew wide and I began breathing hard. 'Thank the Lord! That was close!' I thought and continued driving.

When I finally made it to Blake's preschool, it was 2:30. 'Right on time!' I walked towards the playground, where all of the kids would wait for someone to pick them up, and leaned over the fence. Just as I did, Blake's teacher walked over to me.

"Hi, Amanda. You're right on time!" Mrs. Leah said to me.

I smiled. "I know! I'm not late this time!"

We both laughed and Blake came running up to the fence.

"Sis! You're here!" he screamed. Even thought he was my nephew, he liked to call me sis.

"Hey, bud! You ready for me to take you home!"

"Yeah!"

"Alright! Bye!" I said and waved to Mrs. Leah.

Blake and I got into the car and as soon as I got him into the backseat, my phone started ringing. It was his mom, my sister, Darby.

"Hey! Don't worry, I have Blake. God sent a miracle, I'm not late this time!" I said.

"Haha! That's great! I have a miracle from God as well!" Darby said and I become attentive.

"What is it?"

There is a pause before Darby bursts out,"I'm pregnant!"

I gasp and squeal in my car. "That's amazing! Praise the Lord! You going to tell you know who?"

"Yes! I will meet you at my house."

"See you then," I say and hang up. I can't wait to see Blake's reaction when he finds out he will be a brother.
______
About ten minutes passed before I parked in front of Blake's house. Darby is waiting at the doorstep, grinning with joy from ear to ear.

I got Blake out of the car and he rushes up to his mom. "Mommy!" he squeals and we both laugh and the bundle of blessing God gave us 4 years ago.

"Hey, sweetie! I have news for you!" Darby says excitedly.

"Did you get me something?" Blake asks.

"No, but I want to tell you something. You're going to be a big brother!"

He smiled that blessed smile of his and jumped up and down with happiness. Inside, I praise God for this wonderful blessing He has given us. I just pray that I will be able to handle two kids.
