Falling into a blissful slumber had become a rarity for Aleena, prompting her to seek solace in the refreshing embrace of the night air. It had become her customary routine whenever she felt disheartened. Nestled on the veranda, she observed the delicate dance of flowers, their graceful sway in the gentle breeze, their petals bathed in the radiant sunlight. The sight filled her with profound joy as she immersed herself in the vibrant tapestry of nature surrounding their abode. A smile adorned her face, the source of her uplifted spirit a mystery even to herself, though perhaps it was simply her deep-rooted affinity for the natural world.

Unbeknownst to her, a man stood nearby, a smile gracing his features. It had been months since their paths had last converged, and in his eyes, she appeared exceptionally captivating. The chosen spot she occupied, the dress that adorned her figure-everything seemed to enhance her innate beauty. Her rich complexion, her radiant smile, the harmonious proportions of her form, her elegant nose, and her pink lips that accentuated her lovely countenance-every detail painted a picture of true allure.

Sensing a gaze fixed upon her, Aleena turned, her inquisitive eyes meeting his as he stood there with a contented air, hands folded upon his arm. When had he arrived? she wondered, before exclaiming, "Welcome, dear!" Her voice, sweet and melodious, grounded him in reality, and he approached her with a smile. "What were you lost in? I've been standing here, observing you, yet you were oblivious," he said with a playful smile, settling into one of the plastic chairs beside her.

She giggled and responded, "Can you blame me? I was captivated by the flowers. You know how my heart gravitates toward the enchantment of plants." Her words carried a nonchalant air, concealing the awareness of his presence that lingered beneath the surface. Then she added, "When did you return? I didn't expect you at this hour."

"I arrived a few hours ago. After dropping off my bags, I felt compelled to come here. I missed you dearly," he confessed, his grin unwavering.

"Please don't tell me you haven't eaten anything," she exclaimed, her eyes widening in concern. His lips curled into a smile as he responded, "Look at you! Why that worried expression? I'm not hungry, honestly." In jest, he playfully tugged at her nose with his hand. Her brow furrowed, head tilting, and with a slightly puzzled expression, she exclaimed, "Yaya!" His laughter filled the air. "I apologize, dear. What would you like me to eat?" he inquired politely, attempting to appease her.

"We should go inside. You must have something warm to eat," she insisted, rising from her seat. "But I'm not hungry," he protested, squinting his eyes and mimicking a playful pout. Her forehead creased, her eyes glistening, and she leaned in slightly, clutching his hands. "Please, Yaya, let's go. You need to eat, whether hunger strikes or not. How can one fly for hours from a distant land and claim not to be hungry? I know you too well. You're never fond of eating," she implored, her mouth slightly ajar. The innocent look on her face elicited his laughter. "Alright then, I'll eat, but only if you release me," he proposed, eyeing her hand. She released his hand, conceding, "Okay."

What would you like to eat, then?" she inquired, her voice laced with curiosity. He shrugged, a slight lift of his shoulders, and replied, "I'm open to whatever you decide." Her eyes twinkled with a mischievous glimmer as she rolled her eyes playfully. "Alright then, let me go and work my magic in the kitchen. Just make sure you stay put," she said, making her way towards the parlor and then heading straight to the kitchen.

As she stood before the refrigerator, Aleena's mind raced with ideas. She grabbed some partially cooked meat and fish, knowing Sajan's preferences all too well. He wasn't one for heavy meals, but he had a soft spot for anything made with yam. With swift movements, she prepared a savory beef soup and cooked the fish as a delectable side dish. Before she finished, she made sure to check if the pounded yam was ready, seeking perfection in every aspect of the meal.
