"this is only the beginning"~3rd person pov~
the rivalry started between the two young barcelona prodigies, mallory garcia and pablo gavi, had always remained a mystery between the players, coaching staff, and even went as far as the young stars fans.
no one could quite understand why the pair couldn't put their pure hatred for each other aside for the sake of the game that they both loved so very much.
but both teens refused. in mallory's eyes, pablo gavi was her worst enemy. but, not even she knew how their hatred towards each other may have started, she can only remember ever hating the boy.
and for young pablo, he felt the same. he found the blonde girl quite annoying and obnoxious. he believed she was a try hard, and was too cocky.
mallory thought pablo was a hothead and believed his ego was too large for his own good. every word that was spit out of the boys mouth, she ignored, and everything he did angered the girl, even when it was just a simple task.
the teens constant conflict effected not only them, but their teammates as well, always pulling someone into their intense arguments to back them up, which always ended badly. the pair could barely be in the same room with each other without starting something.
it didn't help that the teens shared the same number, played the same position, and were practically the same age.
the pair were also each the youngest on their professional teams, meaning they were always looking for fan acceptance; as being thrown out on a field at such a young age can be detrimental, as it's fairly easy to crack under the pressure.
both players seek acceptance from not only fans, but from their coaches. they are both willing to do anything to impress and prove that they deserve their spot on the field more than anyone else, not caring if they effect the other teen on that journey.
mallory and pablo had never even tried to become friends, and they liked it that way. they didn't like the others personal issues interfering with their own, and they both knew their was nothing either of them could do to make the other favor them in any way.
both the women's and men's teams had thought and tried everything that would make the pair at least stay sane around each other, but they were never successful.
even the coaches had tried a couple times to get them to talk or work out their differences, but each time ended up with the two youngsters screaming and pushing each other around in fury.
nothing seemed to work.
but an idea from none other than pablo gavi's best friend, pedri gonzalez, might just be the key to ending the teens stupid and pointless disagreements that seemed to be never ending.
pedri had informed all his teammates about the plan, making sure that it was of course legal, before they even brought up the idea to their coaches. most of his teammates shot the idea down immediately, claiming there was no way they could pull it off.
but an okay from just a few of pedri's friends was all he needed to bring the idea to his administrators.
pedri explained how they would "accidently" lock the two rivals in their very own stadium for a week over the holiday, forcing them to work together to do daily things, which would hopefully get them to finally talk about their shit and make up for all the lost time they caused.
pedri honestly believed that if his plan didn't work, their would be no way to bring the two together. he himself was a firm believer of the impossibility of the two children ever being just normal friends, but maybe a plan such as his could finally make pedri, and the two teens, realize the amount of time they are wasting hating each other.
rory speaks:
this chapter is super short and it's terrible cause i never do 3rd person pov, but i wanted you guys to understand the storyline and i didn't think you could really get that from either of the main characters povs. i swear the next ones will be longer, normally my chapters are between 1700-2500 words it just kinda depends on what's happening.
i don't even know if this story is ever going to be published because i'm writing this while i'm in the middle of my joão felix book, and i kinda just wanted something else to write so i started this.
if this is published tho that means i at least finished my joão book, which i never thought would happen. i honestly kinda hated the storyline and planned it out like at the beginning and then just kept writing cause i wanted to finish even tho i didn't like it that much, but i hope u guys enjoyed it if u read it. 💗
alr anyways welcome to jealous type and i hope u guys enjoy 😉
