As we ran, we saw a man on a wagon talking to himself. "This is..the most beautiful place... okay, that i have ever seen." He was very tall and slim. He had black hair and blue eyes and wore some interesting clothes. He wore pants that looked similar to the trunks of the trees.

He began to sing as he threw sharp objects out of his wagon. The objects just barely missed the animals. He grabbed an axe and hit the tree with it. I quickly ran down and grabbed the axe from him. "Hey!" I shouted. He shrieked loudly, falling down. "What do you think you're doing?" I asked the man. "Chopping down a tree to make my invention!" I shook my head. "You won't be chopping down any trees. I woke up from my coma to protect these trees. And I won't have one cut down by you." He narrowed his eyes at me, grabbing his axe and chopping the tree down in one Whack.

Burning.

I gripped my arm in pain. What was that? I looked at my arm to see a wound that was bleeding. "Stop that." I told him. He ignored me, bending down to grab the tufts of the tree. He shook his tush, which made me chuckle. He shook some tufts sort of like pom poms. He grabbed another, lifting a creature with him.

"Hey!"

My eyes widened. That voice was so familiar. The shrieking of the man and the arguing of the creature was in the distance of my mind. I stared at the creature. The guy from the drawing! It's L! My shocked expression changed to a soft smile, staring at the orange creature. "And then she stole my axe!" The man pointed at me. The creature stared at me, and his mouth hung open slightly. "(Y/N)..." He mouthed. "What's your deal, man?" The tall man asked, glancing at me.

"What, do you guys know each other or something?" He made a face of unamusement. The orange creature cleared his throat. "I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. And they say get out!" He shouted at the man. "I will not get out. I finally found the perfect material for my thneed!" He held a strange contraption up in the air. "A theed. Did you cut down one of my trees for that ugly thing?" The Lorax said.

"Ha. I'll show you. Just wait, I'll have this thing sold by the end of the week." The man folded up his thneed. "And what about you, what's your name?" He turned to me, leaning on the tree next to the one he cut down. "(Y/N). You?" He stopped leaning. "I go by Onceler." I tilted my head slightly, remembering the name. "Do you think it's weird?" I shook my head. "It's a cool name. Makes you unique." The man began building something, a house. It was more like a tent, but it resembled that of a house.

He entered the house and held the door open for me. I hesitantly walked in. "Come on. I don't bite." He smirked playfully, hanging his hat on a rack. "So, (Y/N). What are you doing here?" I raised a brow. It's kind of a weird question to ask someone you just met. "Well, you mentioned something about a coma and protecting these trees.." He trailed off. "Sorry if I'm coming off as weird. I just met you after all." He laughed nervously.  "Want something to eat? I was just about to make a snack." He asked, grabbing an apron that was pink and had Hearts on it.

"That would be nice. Thank you." He nodded, tying the apron behind his back and firing up the stove. "Anything in particular?" He asked, grabbing a skillet. "Anything you cook is fine with me." I held my chin in my hand and watched as the man cooked. He was really tall. He is  probably well past 6 feet tall. He was dancing as he cooked and whistled a tune. He was rather cute. Black hair that looked really fluffy and well taken care of, blue eyes that seemed curious and adventurous. He had a smile on his face as he cooked the snack.

Finally, a plate was in front of me. It was fried chicken and a side of mashed potatoes that had flakes of garlic and basil. He hung up his apron and sat down opposite of me. "Well, go on, don't be a stranger." He laughed at his joke, grabbing his knife and fork. "Thanks for the meal." I smiled at him, taking my fork and knife in hand. I cut into the meat and took a bite.

"This is the best chicken I've ever tasted." I ate more. His eyes lit up, and he smiled widely. "Thank you. That's the best thing someone has ever told me." He took a bite of his mashed potatoes. "Hey, listen." He looked up as I broke the small silence. "Sorry for snatching your axe away and yelling at you. I know you have a dream and shouldn't stop you from pursuing it. But please promise not to cut down any more trees." I looked away, glancing at the wound that I had gotten today. "I promise. I'll harvest the tufts instead." I smiled, standing up and washing my plate. "Thank you."

It was time to sleep. Onceler offered to let me sleep on his bed and wouldn't let me object to him sleeping on the floor. "I'd never let my guest, especially a woman, sleep on the floor." He stated as he got onto the floor and covered up with a soft blue blanket. I sat on the bed, watching as Onceler fell asleep.

Have I made a new friend? I laid down and turned onto my side. I fell asleep with a smile on my face. I had finally made a friend who I could hold close to my heart. I would make this friendship last..
