A she-cat warrior yawned lightly, opening one eye before the other. She jolted her head up at the sound of her clan mates waking up and padding out of their respective dens.
The she-cat had a silver pelt that glimmered in the sunlight. This character was Silvergrace, a beautiful mainecoon warrior who had a well-groomed pelt. Silver grace was also accessorized with a string of purple flowers she found near a two leg nest. Unfortunately, the flowers didn't have a pleasant smell. They didn't have a smell at all.
However, even so, they never wilted and looked perfect for the she-cat. Silvergrace stretched and pranced out to the clearing. Their deputy, Sunspeckle, was calling out for morning patrols. Sunspeckle was a basic orange tabby with lime colored eyes.
Silvergrace always admired Sunspeckle. It must have been a difficult role to play as a deputy. at least that's what she thought. Having all these expectations thrown on you and having to fulfill them without fail. But there was one other role that seemed even more stress inducing. And that was the leader.
The leader of Riverclan was a she-cat with a brown colored pelt and a brindle coat. That cat was Dawnstar. Dawnstar was always so loyal to Riverclan, even if she originated from Windclan. Dawnstar always had a playful personality and kept the clan in good spirits.
Sunspeckle took a glance in Silvergrace's direction before calling out, who would be leading each patrol.
"Tawnycrawl will lead the border patrol. Azureleaf, you take the hunting patrol. Silvergrace, Burdockcloud, and Weaselshell will go with Azureleaf. Tawnycrawl, you choose who will go with you on the border patrol."
Silvergrace couldn't peel her eyes away from Sunspeckle. That was until Burdockcloud whispered something in her ear.
"Huh?"
Silvergrace glanced over at the Tom with genuine confusion. It was almost like she was in some sort of daze and couldn't hear Burdockcloud even while he was a kit's distance away from her.
"I said, aren't you excited?! This is our first hunting patrol together!"
Silvergrace didn't share his excitement. The She-cat never liked getting her paws dirty with patrols, but she'd do anything for Sunspeckle.
"Uhuh.."
Burdockcloud sighed, seeming to have already lost her attention again. He trotted off to catch up with the rest of his patrol while Silvergrace stayed standing with Sunspeckle. It felt exquisite. Sunspeckle seemed to have this radiance about him, this everlasting light burning in his eyes. Silvergrace stared until Sunspeckle noticed and didn't stop to ask.
"Go on Silvergrace, you better run off with the hunting patrol before you lose them."
Silvergrace flattened her ears and sighed. She supposed Sunspeckle was right. Instead of gandering at him, she should do something productive for Riverclan! Like.. hunting with her patrol like she was asked..
The she-cat trotted off out of the camp and noticed the hunting patrol splitting up across a hill. Silvergrace followed Burdockcloud, which was heading towards a thin river.
Burdockcloud flicked his right ear before turning to greet the silver pelted she-cat.
"So you finally decide to stop obsessing over the deputy?"
Burdockcloud cloud teased, chuckling lightly at Silvergrace's expense.
"I - "
The Tom interrupted Silvergrace's reasoning.
"Oh sunspeckle, I just loooveee you!!! Your beautiful green eyes... your blazing orange pelt!!!"
Silvergrace stared at the Tom with hatred burning in her eyes.
