A/ns note : OMG HELLO MY LOVESS 😭
Im so sorry for the late AF chapter i have been super busy with school , work , sports , after school activities , out of school activities , trades just so much 😭

I swear im trying my hardest to get back to you guys each week but im always so tired when i get home BUT anyway HERES A NEW CHAPTER I HOPE YOULL ALL LOVE 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

* time skip to after loak goes missing but before they find him ( so basically the in between of it ) *

Ani's pov ;

I was sitting in my secret spot behind our new hut in the Metkayina clan . I was glimpsing down ant the beautiful glowing world beneath the water , " how did i not recognise the beauty of the sea as much as i did the forest ? " is what i asked myself each time i saw something new and beautiful beneath my feet as they dangle over the glistening water .

I looked further under me to see that there was a type of staircase , a very badly made one but close , i climbed my way down to take me out to this closed of deck area , it looked beaten up and old but it was quiet and shallow , which was obviously to my liking .
There were a few trees surrounding me and my new quiet place in my new clan ... but i miss the trees that were everywhere around me , my old quiet place with the atokirina , back where my real home was ...

My eyes started to whelm as the memories of my first home started to flood my mind, i bring my hands to my face and bow my head down as i try to make myself stop crying .

As i was calming myself i hear a branch snap behind me , at first i was alerted thinking it was the demon that tried to kill me and my siblings so i reached for my bow , only to be met with a warmth against my back and soft hands halting my wrist ... but no bow...

" Breathe Ani ... its me " he whispers the last part .... it was Neteyam .

I hadn't seen him since the incident at the shore , i assumed he and my twin, Loak , were taken away by my father .

I come out of my thoughts and turn around gently and taking one step back , not wanting what happened earlier to happen again as i'm confused about my feelings and scared of what his might be .

" What are yo- " i hesitate to ask as i dont want him thinking or knowing about my feelings towards him .

" How did you find me ? " i calmly say as i shake my thoughts off and stall around as if im up to no good

" Well at first I was looking for you to ask if my dearest , Ani , would like to come for a night ride on out ilu's but since i didn't see you at your usual spot outside of our hut , i was about to leave " he pauses as he looked down and walked his way towards me slowly but steady

" At least that was until i heard slight sniffles from further behind , so , i decided to explore and try find where those sweet little sniffles were coming from " he says as his adorable smile comes out to shine and his hands pinch my rose red cheeks a little .

I giggle as he started to play with my cheeks , i gently slap his hand away as we start yo settle a little . I look up to him to see hes already looking down at me with a soft smile but a different look in his eyes ... a look of ... love ? ...

No- right ?
He doesn't-
He could never-
Hes-
Does he-... Does he feel the same way i do ... ?

He brings is warm gentle hands up to my face and holds my rose cheeks every so slightly and says in a calm and nurturing tone ,

" What is wrong Ray ? " ( roll the r with the tongue : dray - it should sound something like that but not really )

He hasn't called me Ray since i was 13 .... we had gone out for a stroll / late night archery lesson and we both grew closer than ever with each other .
