"Get your lazy butts off that couch and start working, you two! I'm an awesome mage who helped the hero kick the demon king's ass, so I'm pretty sure a new quest is coming our way. It's not cool for you both to just lounge around like that!"

Megumin was fuming with anger, seeing her badass mage image going down the drain because Aqua and Kazuma were being lazy losers. She couldn't stand their idleness and lack of motivation.

Relaxedly seated, basking in the warmth of the bonfire's healing flames atop the chimney, were the pair consisting of the reclusive NEET and the utterly ineffective goddess.

"Now, now, my child, let us calm down. There's no need for adventure today; it's a beautiful sunny day. You should be grateful to me," Aqua chimed in, mimicking a voice that resembled that of an angel.

"Yeah, I gotta agree with this useless Goddess," Aqua flinched and playfully pinched Kazuma's belly. "Sometimes, even after defeating the Demon King as a hero, a guy needs to chill and make the most of a whole day of relaxation," Kazuma said, exuding a classy vibe as he casually sipped his tea.

"You got your damn vacation, alright? You've been loafing around for a whole week! Get off your lazy ass and start working! We can't just work when it's convenient for you. There are people out there who need our help, especially during times like this!" Megumin asserted firmly.

"You damn lolicon! All you ever want is to make your explosions go off everywhere. Every time you go wild, it costs us a million eris! Show some restraint!" Kazuma retaliated. He crossed his arms, his bathrobe revealing a glimpse of his bare skin.

Megumin's brows furrowed as she observed the man before her. It was evident that he possessed an abundance of excuses, unwilling to admit his own laziness.

"Megumin, why don't you join Darkness instead? She'd probably love getting caught up in your explosions," Aqua suggested, but Megumin simply scoffed in response.

"She's not available at the moment. She's occupied with her noble obligations, leaving you two as my only options," Megumin stated, crossing her arms in determination.

"Liar! You're just looking for someone to carry your lazy self! Why don't you go on a quest by yourself instead of dragging us into it?" Kazuma exclaimed, his frustration evident in his voice.

Megumin shot him a glare that could melt steel, causing Kazuma to pause momentarily. It was clear that his words struck a nerve, and he realized he should probably keep his mouth shut.

"Fine, whatever..."

Just as the two of them believed that Megumin had given up, she began mumbling to herself, causing both of them to be taken aback and alarmed.

"If you don't want to accompany me, fine by me then," Megumin began, her voice trailing off as she started to utter the word "Explo—" but Kazuma swiftly intervened, covering her mouth to prevent her from finishing her sentence.

"Enough! Fine, I'll come along!" Kazuma declared in an irritated tone.

Megumin gently removed Kazuma's hand from her mouth. "Idiot! Covering my mouth won't stop me. I can perform an explosion without chanting, you know. But if you insist on coming with me, well, I won't mind. Haha!" she exclaimed with a mischievous grin.

Kazuma just wanted to swear and vent his frustration. He was supposed to be lazing around, and he despised the idea of working. His whole lifestyle had shifted after defeating the demon king, and he felt like he deserved this relaxed state. However, when it came to Megumin, he couldn't say no to her, and deep down, he didn't mind it either. Though, he needed a little push to get him going.
