-Hitoshis POV-

"Oh, hell no." He blurted the words before he could think. Internally he cringed. Is that how you're supposed to respond to having to kiss your only actual friend?

"You don't have to do it if you dont--" Kaminari started, but Hitoshi held up a hand. He couldn't help but wondering when the hell he'd started considering denki a friend. Aizawa was going to murder him.

"Whatever, Kaminari. Let's just get this over with." He said a little bitterly. Kaminari blinked at him a little.

Hitoshi grabbed the front of Kaminari's shirt and yanked him towards him. He pressed his lips to Kaminari's, ignoring the whole butterfly colony making a home in his stomach.

He tastes like sunshine, Hitoshi noticed before he pulled back. The thought puzzled him. What the hell does sunshine taste like? Maybe it was just the energy drink.

Hitoshi was shocked when he pulled back. Literally. His nerves were buzzing and it reminded of that time he'd touched a fridge plugin wrong.

"Wow." Was all Kaminari said before sitting back in his spot, looking a little dazed.

"Dude." Sero said. "That was more than I was expecting."

Hitoshi side-eyed Sero with more than a little contempt. "Shut the fuck up." He said.

Sero raised his hands defensively, "alright, chill man. Who's next?"

"I'll go." Todoroki said.

And it went on like this. Eventually Sato came out with some fancy little pancake looking things. They all go eaten before jirou had managed to figure out how to put on music. How she struggled with that was beyond Hitoshi, but then again he spent half his existence on computers.

-Denki's POV-

Oh God oh God oh God. Is this what a panic attack felt like? His nerves had went on the fritz when Shinsou had kissed him and now he couldn't get himself to calm down. Although that could've been blamed on the energy drinks.

Shinsou was just sitting next to him staring at the ceiling unblinkingly. Was he freaking out inside too? Denki couldn't tell because Shinsou might as well have been dead. He wasn't even breathing as far as he could see.

Denki stood and walked up to the roof-- to actually get air, because he felt like the air in here was trying to choke him.

He sat on the edge and stared out at the landscape, trying to get his hammering nerves under control. The sun had long since set and it was dark out. He couldn't really see any stars, except one that might be Venus.

"Its a starless night." Shinsous voice said from behind him, making him startle a little.

"Yeah." Denki replied shortly.

"Don't fall." Shinsou sat next to him on the edge, dangling his legs off.

"I won't."

They settled into an extremely awkward silence. Or maybe it just felt awkward to denki because Shinsou seemed to be fine. He was just staring at the sky with a blank expression on his face.

"I could-- I can hear things when I short circuit." Denki finally blurted out, fidgeting with the edge of his shirt.

Shinsou just glanced at him. "Really?" He asked nonchalantly. As if he couldn't care less. Denki bit his tounge a little.

"Yeah. I was... I... Thank you." He eventually managed to spit out.

"Its basic courtesy." Shinsou replied quickly. "I'm sorry they're such dicks to you."

Denki sighed a little. "Its okay." He said. "They're just--"

"No, it's actually not okay." Shinsou cut him off, turning his head to stare at him. "They're your teammates. And even if they weren't they have no right to treat you like they do." His voice was flat, but there was something in his eyes that made Denki think maybe he meant it.

Maybe.

"They've always done it." Denki said with a little shrug and a shaky smile. "Really, don't worry about it."

"That's terrible." Shinsou said and turned his attention back to the sky. "I'm pretty sure you're smarter than half of them, too."

"Oh, no, I wouldn't say that." Denki chuckled.

"I would." Shinsou said without even glancing at him. "Also yesterday? I'm sorry they did that to you."

"You mean the baby food?" Denki asked, "no, it's fine! I just want to know where the heck they even got the stuff!"

"They probably eat it for a midnight snack." Shinsou said bitterly. "If they do that again I'll pummel them."

"But why?"

"Huh?" Shinsou glanced at him.

"Why would you pummel them? Its really not a big deal." Denki said.

Shinsou just shook his head. "No. It is." Is all he said. "Why'd you come up here?"

Because his heart was about to stop if he stayed inside any longer. Because he liked that kiss a lot more than Shinsou did. Because he didn't know what to call this feeling in his belly.

"Because I needed some air." He lied.

"You must breathe a lot of air." Shinsou mumbled.

Denki laughed humorlessly, "yeah. By the way, did you ever figure out that polynomial stuff?" He attempted a subject change.

Shinsou glanced at him. "...yes. sort of. Well, not exactly. I don't know what it means by factor completely when it is as simple as it can get."

Denki smiled at him. "Its like you have to reverse engineer the problem so it goes back to being two equations in parentheses instead of just one." He said.

His heart wasn't in it, though. He was still wondering, what do I call this? The feeling in his belly that made him want to throw up and laugh at the same time. He only got it when he was talking to Shinsou.

What do I call this?
