3RD PERSONS POV
"Ri!" A voice was heard coming through the empty hallways. Gakpo was in his slides, walking towards the two, well, limping towards the two. Trent and Maria's head turned towards the voice, waiting for another word.
"Yes?" Maria walked towards the so-called injured man. Gakpo took his time walking towards her, smiling. Maria reached him and faced the tall man. He gave her his phone, indicating to put her phone number in.
"I want to have your phone number. I always contact my physiotherapist" He cheekily smiled, handing her the phone. Maria was laughing at his idiotic remark, but still putting her phone number in. She gave it back and smiled at the man, not knowing Trent was glaring at the two
"See you around, Cody" Maria gave Gakpo a warm hug before turning around to face angry Trent. Gakpo was smirking at Trent, giving him an 'I always win' face and turning the other way.
Trent waiting for Gakpo to be far from the two before starting to speak again. "Don't let him play you" Trent said seriously, but Maria couldn't really tell by the tone in his voice if he was joking or not. She looked at him weirdly, confused as to why he would say such thing on the first day of the two meeting.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"You understood what I said" His jaw clenched, eyes glistening from the water his eyes carried. His doe eyes always found a way to shine in the dark, no matter where he was it was his signature feature. It was Maria's true weakness. Trent can not hold eye contact to save his life, but when he does, it gets her nervous.
Trent walked towards the exit. Maria just kept quite and followed his lead. The drive home was quite awkward as Kanye was just repetitively on aux the way home.
MARIAS POV
He never changed. His love for Kanye is undefeated, it was something you would have to get used to listening if you were around him. I wanted to start a conversation as the atmosphere in the car was unbreathable.
"How have your brothers been? I missed Marcel a lot" I asked, genuinely concerned about his family's well-being's. There was a pause after the question, it's as if Trent was thinking of an answer to say.
"They've been okay. Marcel has missed you a lot you know. You've always been an older sister to him. You disappearing negatively impacted him" Trent said as a 'matter of fact' way. I felt guilty. Truly guilty. I didn't know what to say and just gulped down the saliva build up in my mouth that I couldn't swallow earlier.
"I see." I breathed in. "How has your mother been?" Trent looked to his side mirror to see if there were any cars behind before taking a right.
"Her health worsened over the time, but thankfully she's better now. She also misses you. You were like a daughter to her"
I couldn't anymore. All this guilt trip he has been feeding on my mind and heart is worsening. I felt convicted and very sorry. Back then it had probably weighed down on me that I couldn't really think about others at that time, but now that I'm thinking about it, I ruined a lot of peoples lives.
I started tearing up again. "Don't tell me you're crying again" Trent was annoyed. "Suck it up, past is past. Plus, you're going to see them in a bit lighten up"
"I just. I was at my lowest at that time, I didn't know what to do. I was in a big dilemma and was young and didn't think about others. It has been weighing down on me ever since I made my decision to move." We were almost at his house, giving me time to breath. "I missed you a lot" Trent looked at me once and parked in his garage. He got out and left me in the car. I saw him come to my side and open the door, taking me out.
