Rolling over, my eyes are instantly greeted by the bright sunlight of early morning. I sit up, and run my hands through my rats nest I call hair.
"IRIS! BREAKFAST NOW!" My brother calls up from the living room.
Groaning, I swing my legs over my old rotten twin mattress and regret it instantly. The bruises from last night were still fresh, and the marks from two days ago fight were still gaping holes. My toes touch the cold wood flooring, and I rush to find my shoes. Anything to protect myself from the invading cold wood.
Settling on old ripped up socks, I stumble about to find something to wear. An old grey pull over, and jeans were going to be the outfit to wear especially when I heard my brother screaming my name again.
Scrambling out of the room, and out my door, I could feel my knees give out and I landed with a hard thump at the bottom of two story stair case. Biting my lip to stop the cry of pain, I picked myself up to look at my brother.
His brooding grey eyes shown anger, and complete rage towards me. Not only that, but I could smell his anger falling off him in waves.. His arms were crossed over his broad chest, and they drummed an angry melody.
"What do you think you are doing?!" He yelled, almost instantly I cringed and tried to stay small. Which wasn't hard with my small form, and skinny body type.
"I..I was coming d-down... I..I fell... It--" hot pain shot through my cheek, and I had barely enough time to put my arms out to catch myself on the railing.
"Breakfast. Now!" My brother, Alexinder screamed at me. Scrambling up again, and ran for the kitchen. Trying so desperately to cling to the tears that threaten to fall..
Rule one, never show any weakness here. You'll be beaten till you stop crying, or you die.. Which ever comes first.
"I want my protein shake, remember nothing sugary! I'm on a diet!" My sister, Cassidy screeched at me. She sauntered in, wearing a skirt that should be classified as a pair of underwear, and a bra as a shirt. "Stop looking at me like that!" She screamed, catching me off guard. She back handed me on the other cheek, her long nails taking some skin with her. "Just because you're the runt, and completely a fat ass, doesn't mean you can stare at me! Make me my food!"
Turning away, and moving around the kitchen, I collect the breakfast. Simple pancakes and eggs, ham and sausage and a side of fresh orange juice. Moving about the kitchen, I settled into a routine quickly. Having been cleaning and cooking since I was eight, you find things easier and move with a better grace than most.
Snorting to herself, she pushed me up against the fridge and spat in my face. "Stop being twinkle toes, and fix up my shake!" She screeched, "Remember your place, Iris. You're not a wolf yet, you still have three more years to go. Which means you're just a human, and my wolf doesn't like you. Piss me off again, and I swear I'll let her eat you."
Shoving me further into the fridge, Cassidy left the kitchen. My heart racing and my throat closing, I turned back to the food.
Wiping off a little bead of sweat, and I carried the dishes into the large dining room. The whole pack was speaking, yelling and trying to be heard. As for me? I tried to go unnoticed and quiet as a mouse.
Setting plates around the table, and dragging the food as I went, I loaded the plates and poured the juice. Gulping, I noticed how close I was to Alpha Jon.. The one who order I be the punching bag of the pack..
Setting his plate down quickly, and pouring his coffee I went to move on to the next person. A tight iron hold grabbed my wrist, and caught me slightly off guard and a squeal flew from my mouth. Almost instantly the whole room was silenced.
"You didn't say good morning, Iris. I thought I had taught you better." Alpha Jon said, his hold tightening slowly.
"I'm sorry sir, good morning sir. How are you sir?" I asked, trying to keep my voice settled.
Alpha Jon smiled, and pulled me toward him. I gulped again, watching as his hand snaked up my throat and clutched my cheeks in his hands.
"You will be meeting me in my office today, at three sharp. Do not be late, dear Iris. Your consequences will grow more deadly by the minute." Jon growled into my ear, and I could feel his hot breath on my cheek.
Chills ran up my spine, and I tried to hold back the shiver. Jon threw me backwards, and let my wrist go with a slight popping sound. Almost instantly I knew it was popped out, the limp movement was the final straw.
Sighing, I silently popped it back into place and moved it around. Testing if I was able to use it again or not, and finding that I could.. A little achy, but I could still use it to pass out the breakfast.
Silently and quickly, everyone was eating away at the breakfast and I made a mad dash for the kitchen. Slightly hoping that I could sneak the last pancake for myself, I quickly stacked the dishes and started on the last pancake.
The batter was made perfectly, smooth and still slightly warm. Smiling, I wolfed down the last pieces before everyone started shoving their dirty plates at me.
Cassidy sent me a snarl, and reminded me of her shake to be more smooth. Other than that, no one said a bad thing about my cooking. No one usually ever did, I made it perfect so no one ever slapped me down for it..
"Iris, do remember our get together today." Alpha Jon smiled, "Your brother wanted me to tell you that he wants you outside in five minutes. Do the dishes, and quickly so Alex doesn't wait for long."
Sighing, I shuffled over to the plates. Washing and drying as fast as I could, hoping that I wouldn't be too late. Knowing Alex, he would be pissed anyways even if I was two seconds late.
Throwing the dish towel, and dashing for the back door, I almost collided with Ava. She was probably the closest thing to someone on my side, even though she never spoke a single word to me.
Sending her a smile, and turning away I ran harder towards the back woods. My wold poked her head out of her shell, and tested the air. 'Anything bad?' I asked her, hoping for nothing.
Hearing no reply, I took it as all was clear so far. Even though everyone from the pack shut off her link, except Ava. But, like before, they never spoke a word. Practically due to Ava being a mute.
"Hello, sister." Alexinder smiled wickedly, and stepped out of the woods. Following him was three other guys, all buddies of his from school. Humans actually, my wolf could smell them.
They are aroused, Iris. You need to run. My wolf screamed at me, and instantly I had hard wood pressed against my back.
Blinking away confusion, and opening my eyes I saw Alex'a wicked face. His hand clamped around my throat a little tighter, and I began to claw at his hands. My fingers were now paws, and I could feel my wolf beginning to fight to gain control.
"She is a looker," a guy with blonde hair whispered. Licking his lips, he stepped forward. He came into my personal area, and revealed a red handkerchief. "Be a good little wolf girl," he purred, and then began to cover my eyes.
Frantically, I tried to kick and push and claw everyone within arms reach of me. Alex was taking it, since his wolf was healing him almost instantly.
"Just lie down, and we will make this as painless as possible my little flower...." Another guy whispered into my ear, as his hand trailed down toward my jeans.
