Chapter 2

Nikki Pov.

As I was being pulled out of the coffee shop by Alice, I waved to the raven haired boy. I heard Alice give a laugh in front of me as she watched me wave.

I stopped and turned toward her raising an eyebrow.

"What's so funny?" I asked raising an eyebrow at Alice

"You! You can just walk up to some random person and act as if you have known them forever!" She said her eyes sparkling brightly as the sun hit them. I shrugged smiling at her comment.

"I just asked about a tattoo!! I really liked it!!" I started to walk the sidewalk to our apartment.

"Yeah and it was if you were asking your friend what time you were going over to their house! I wish I could have that type of personality! I mean I couldn't do that period I would chicken out, especially towards a cute boy!"

I rolled my eyes and we continued to walk until we were met with the apartment. I opened the door to the main lobby. Kids were running around with their parents pulling them to try and get them to the beach. Drake, the owner of the apartments, greeted us as we walked the 3 flights of steps till we got to our hallway.

"Hello girls!" he smiled

"Hey Drake." we smiled as we started our journey up the steps.

"Remember that rent is due on the 20th!!" He yelled as we went up

"WE KNOW!!" I screamed my back towards him rolling my eyes at his reminder.

"He just never stops with that reminder." Alice whispered

We had finally made it to our "house" and entered it. I plopped on the couch letting out a long sigh and kicking off my gym shoes. Alice went somewhere into the kitchen and I turned on the to to Nickelodeon.

"Really? Nickelodeon?" I heard Alice say as she walked in with some grapes and two water bottles.

"Hey don't judge! SpongeBob is a classic." I snapped playfully grabbing a handful of the grapes and throwing them in my mouth. We had sat on the couch for about 30mins when the phone started to ring. Alice sent me a look as if to say pick it up. I groaned and went into the kitchen grabbing the phone off the counter.

"Hello?" I asked opening the fridge.

"Hey Nikki!!" I heard a familiar voice sing into the phone

"Hello Robert!" I smirked saying it loud enough for Alice to hear. I saw her blonde hair running towards me at full sprint. Robert is Alice's boyfriend. He had dark brown hair and matching green blue eyes as Alice. They had the exact same personality. They both were shy and quiet when you first meet them but get loud and funny once you get to know them. I was pulled from my thought when I felt a body collide with mine sending me to the floor. I let out a OOF! and landed on my back, I looked up to see Alice holding the phone to her ear and saying Hello into the phone. I rolled my eyes and gave out a soft laugh. I stood up and maneuvered my way around her and into my "study".

And when I mean "study" I mean the guest room that has all my art. I am an artist. I love to draw, take pictures and paint. The room was a dull white that had a window on the middle wall. It also held a small closet that held my paint brushes and paints and paper and my various types of pencils. From colored ones to plain graphite. The room also had .a small desk for me to draw on. It was a great place to come just to relax and express my feelings. I walked over to my closet and pulled out a pad of paper and a fine pencil. I walked over to my desk and sat down wondering what to draw. I thought of nature then of Alice but the boy with the raven black hair and the golden brown eyes flashed in my mind. The way his eyes drifted to mine when i asked him about his tattoo and the way his eyes lite up when i asked him about it. I smiled thinking about how he seemed so small and innocent when he was alone waiting for his friend.

My mind was fixed on the boy in the coffee shop and my hand started to move across the paper starting to draw my new creation. I was pulled from my dream land by a knock at my door. I looked up and saw Alice giving me a small smile

"Sorry to interrupt but we were just invited to go to the bowling alley and I was wondering if you would like to go?" She asked giving me a smile.

"Umm." I whispered pulling my ponytail. I didn't like going places with Alice and Robert. I was always the third wheel or they would bring another guy to try and set me up.

"Oh come on Nikki! Please!!! We will bring Jamie!! You won't be alone!" She pleaded pouting her lip.

I huffed "Fine I'll go."

Alice let out a large wahoo and started to dance outside the door. I laughed at her and got up stretching my back. I looked down at my creation so far and noticed that I had zoomed in on the boy's face more than anything. His jaw had been outlined as was the rest of his face. This was going to be a long project I thought to myself. I had to try to remember the boy while going on with my normal day life. I left my art room to follow Alice to the living room where i found Robert already here with Chinese food.

I raised an eyebrow at him.

"I have been here for 20minutes but you were in your own world so we left you alone."

I smiled at him and grabbed the Chinese on the counter i walked out of the kitchen and yelled

"HE IS A KEEPER!"
