Love

Henry POV

After everyone leaves, Rosie heads to the bedroom while I clean up. She was worn out after today but I knew she loved it. I think everyone needed to see her and to know she was okay. As I walk into the room, I see Rosie sitting up in bed. She looks miles away.
"You okay?"
She looks up at me and nods "thank you"
"For what?"
"For today, it was so nice to see everyone"
"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself sweetheart but that wasn't my doing"

"It wasn't?"
I shake my head "my mum text me earlier to say she wanted to drop off a few things for us but never mentioned a welcome home party"
I see her smile, her head drops and she shakes it, "what's wrong?"
I sit down next to her and gently place my finger under her chin to bring her eyes to mine. I see the shimmer of tears waiting to fall.
"Honey? Why are you crying?"
She sighs "they did all that for me?"
"Of course they did, they love you"
She lets out a soft cry, I pull myself to the side to sit closer to her and gently place my arm around her.

"Sweetheart what's going on?"
"I've never felt this"
"Felt what?"
"So loved." She looks up at me and smiles through her tears "I've never had a family who loves me the way yours do. I never had parents who care or siblings who what to see me. I mean my parents couldn't even be bothered to be with me at all until the day I woke up, and that was only because they had to be. I never had this and god my heart feels so full, I could burst"
I can't help but smile down at her, kissing her slowly.
"My family knew the greatness of you before I did. They love you so much Rosie, wether we were together or not. Your apart of this family and your never going to get rid of us"

She giggles "is that so?"
I nod "Rosie, never in a million years did I expect to come home, meet you and fall in love but I did. Your everything I have ever wanted in my life, and when I got that phone call my heart sank. I couldn't even fathom the idea of being without you. To know I had no say in what would happen to you just killed me. I had to live everyday for the past month in fear, not only that you would leave me but that two people who don't even really know you would get to decide if you left. I hated it, I didn't sleep, eat or do anything but stay with you"

I see her tears falling and she leans up slowly and places the sweetest of kisses on my lips.
"I'm so sorry Henry"
"I told you, you have nothing to be sorry for"
"Yes I do, I knew I was tired, way to tired to drive and yet I still did. I should have just for a car from the airport and then none of you would have had to go through this"
I sit up and take her face in my hands "don't ever blame yourself for this. It was a drunken driver Rosie. They should have never been behind the wheel. This was not on you okay"
She sighs and start to cry more, I pull her as gently as I can into my lap, and cradle her to me.

"I missed you so much Henry, I heard you. You wished you could breathe for me, you did baby. Without you here fighting for me I wouldn't here. I love you so much"
I kiss her head and I feel the tears falling "I love you too Rosie, more then you will ever know. I plan on spending forever making you see how amazing and wonderful and beautiful you truly are"
I hear she sniffle a little more and I kiss her head again. Sitting here with this beautiful woman, who has no idea the love she deserves makes my heart melt. She is truly everything to me, and I know it's only been a few months but the words I whisper come from my heart
"Rosie, marry me?"
