"Hurry up Megan, we are going to be late," mum yelled up the stairs in her exasperated tone of voice.
"Coming!" I Shouted over my shoulder. I turned around and looked at myself in the mirror. I strained my scout scarf and tightened my ponytail. I liked looking smart when I went to scouts. I felt like I fitted In there because I loved the outdoors, and makings fires, and putting up tents and stuff like that.
"Come on Megan. We are going to be late!" Mum yelled again. I stumbled down the stairs, pulling on my trainers at the same time.
"I'm here. Let's go," I said extorted to get there. Daisy and dad were waiting in the car and mum was just closing the front door behind us.
When we were safely settled in the car dad stomped on the gas peddled and we shot off. I couldn't wait. Mainly because mum and dad always argued in the car; that meant Daisy would start crying and wailing so I would have to calm her down with something and the only thing I had was my Friday crunchie. I was not giving that up, no way!
One millisecond. A crash. A bang. An explosion. Fire. Mum dad... Dead!
I woke up sweating and shivering, by back pressed hard against an old oak tree. My sister seemed to be sleeping peacefully in my arms. I stayed very still trying not to wake her up. I was thinking about the dream, the only dream I had since the accident. Since Yesterday... A cold harsh wind whipped around us and i hugged Daisy tighter. She was all i had left now. Mum was an only child and both her parents were dead; Dad had one brother and a dad but he had not seen them in over 20 years so of course neither of us had.
I knew that we couldn't go into care because they would most likely split us up. I could not.. No, Would not allow it. I was her BSBFF. (Big Sister Best Friend Forever obviously). We had never been apart and it had taken a lot of purswading, a lot of hugs and LOADS of chocolate before she would let me go to weekend scout camp.
Anywhere, we had only ever each lived in one house and it so important to us. you just can't mke a new house a home. putting things that belong in your home in this new house makes it no more specail. Memories are what make a house a home. so many lost memories..
Suddenly felt Daisy stir beside me. Within a second i realised. In the shadowy clearing around us I heard a rustle and whispering voices spoke out from the dark. A very clear male voice spoke out from all the rest in a menacing tone.
"What are you doing in our forest?"
