chapter five

"I don't like weakness."

-First Training Session-

"What the hell is up your ass today?" Jin spits at Jungkook, jogging to catch up to the pacing man as they both head up to the Generals dorms.

"I don't know what your talking about." Jungkook says, staring straight ahead when Jin rolls his eyes.

"Don't play dumb. Whats your problem with Jimin?" Jin asks, eyes narrowed when his brother only stays silent.

"I don't hold any conflict with Mr. Park. I just don't particularly care for him." The raven mumbles, failing to give the full truth as Jin immediately tugs his arm. Jungkook stops in his tracks, clenching his jaw as both brothers now stand face to face in the hallway.

"And what in particular has he done to earn such indifference from you?" Jin pushes, glaring when Jungkook only dismisses his words.

"I don't like weakness." Jungkook answers harshly, telling a half truth and half lie when Jin narrows his eyes.

"You barely know him." The man points out.

"I don't need to. It's obvious." Jungkook retorts instantly.

"You seemed perfectly fine with it when you took him out of Yoongis group just for talking to Taemin." The shorter says accusingly, lip twitching when that seems to strike a nerve.

"That's not why I did it." The raven defends.

"Oh really?" Jin inquires. "Then tell me. Why did it make you so particularly angry when Taehyung protected him? Did you fear they were romantic? Are you perhaps curious about Jimin?"Jin mocks, tilting his head when Jungkook only scoffs at the words. The shorter raven knew it was a shot in the dark, but he also knew how much the saw his brother staring at the blonde..

"I switched him because I didn't want Yoongi to have to deal with it. We have two generals after all." Jungkook says after a moment, his jaw clenching when Jin practically laughs in his face.

"Bullshit." The man scoffs, and Jungkook narrows his eyes.

"I can promise you don't have to worry about me becoming attracted to Mr.Park, I could never become infatuated with someone so inadequate." Jungkook hisses, making Jin's eyes switch from teasing to guilty in an instant.

The man finds himself sighing at his brothers lack of mercy.

"He's sweet Jungkook, just sweet. And he looked like he was about to cry because of what you just said to him." Jin admits, eyebrows furrowing when something flashes in Jungkook's eyes before disappearing in an instant.

"It only proves my point." Is all the raven says.

"Kindness isn't weakness, and it would do you good to remember that before being such an ass." Jin finally says, walking off before Jungkook can respond.

Jungkook may be talking out of his ass, but they both knew what he said wasn't completely a lie.

Kindness may not be weakness, but it would sure as hell kill you in a world like theirs, and Jungkook knew that.

They both did.
