"Alright class, that's it for today. Don't forget to read chapter 5, we'll be reviewing it next session."

I finished writing the last of my notes down and quickly packed up my bags. I began walking shoving Dr.Moreno's textbook into my bag however, I managed to drop it.

I mentally curse and begin to reach for it, but my professor grabs it first.

"The future of evolution, by Dr.Gilbert Moreno. Where did you find this, Ms.Guerrero?" He asks eyeing it as if it where his most prized possession.

"I lucked out on eBay, some guy was selling it for cheap price. He didn't know the true value of it." I reply smiling.

"And you did, how are you liking it so far?"

"It's really fascinating Dr.Grayson, the work he was doing, he pushed the limits even if they were a bit out of the scientific realm." I say.

"However he was able to prove their place inside the scientific realm. His biggest critics thought he was a fool but any actual scientist would agree he really was one of a kind."

"I agree, it's sad, what happened to him and his family."

"Yes, just another lesson that we must enjoy life as much as we can, we have so little time with it."

"I'll see you next class sir."

"Goodbye, Ms. Guerrero."

I walked out the door successfully slipping the book into my bag. Snow begins to fall slowly and layer on top of the University's lawn. There was a mound of assignments waiting for me when I returned home, so I begin heading towards the cafe.

This semester is definitely going to be the death of me. I thought the end of senior year would be smooth. It would be relaxing. However I'm drowning in capstone projects and rigorous exams.

I walk into the warm atmosphere of the cafe, the smell of fresh ground coffee beans instantly hitting me as I stepped in. I make my way towards the counter and begin to order my usual. I begin to take out my wallet to pay.

"I'll have what she's having, and charge it on this." The voice was all too familiar.

I turn around to see those blue eyes staring towards the barista, a slight smirk on his face as he handed her his card.

"Leon, you don't-"

"I want to, plus I want to make up for running out on you the other week." He says. He takes his card back and puts it away. We both grab our coffees and he gestures to a table near a window.

So much for those assignments. We both take a seat and I take a slight sip of my drink.

"Good?" He says.

"I like it, but I don't know if you would?"

"Why?"

"I get it with extra espresso."

"Just one?" I nod.

"That's nothing." I stare at him in disbelief as he takes a swig of the coffee.

"How many do you usually get?" I ask now curious.

"I need at least 4 shots, sometimes 5."

"Does your boss overwork you that much?"

"Something like that." He says smiling.

"What do you do?" I ask and he tenses a bit.

"I work in the government....let's leave it at that."

"Wow, that's seems pretty cool and a bit tense."

"It has its days."

"So the other day, you had to go protect the president or do some top secret mission?" I joke with hun.

"Something like that." I smile and he does as well.

"So Diana, what do you do?" He asks breaking the silence.

"I'm a student, studying microbiology here in D.C.. I'm actually in my last semester and I'll officially be a graduate." I say and he raises his brows.

"Wow, beautiful and smart, I'm sure your boyfriend's lucky?" I laugh and feel my face get a bit red.

"I actually don't have a boyfriend, nor do I think I ever had one." I say.

"You've never been in a relationship?"

"If I was in one, I wouldn't remember it." He looks at me, a confused expression on his face.

"Sorry, I forget that not everyone has a bad case of amnesia."

"A bad case?"

"Four years ago, I woke up in a hospital where I was told my parents and I had been in a car accident. They also told me that my parents were both gone and I had no idea who they were."

"A car accident...bullshit." Leon thought.

"To this day I don't remember them or anything about my life before the accident and I-" I stop beginning to notice I was rambling.

"I'm sorry, I tend to ramble a bit. Didn't mean to make this conversation go down a bit." I say.

"You didn't, you just needed to vent a bit. I'm sorry about your parents." He says reaching out and grabbing my wrist. He squeezes it lightly before taking it back.

I'm about to say something however I'm cut off my a soft beeping coming from Leon's jacket. He looks down grabbing his phone with an annoyed look.

"Duty calls?" I say smiling.

"Unfortunately it does. This coffee order isn't too bad by the way." He says.

"See you Leon."

"See you soon." He says as he begins to walk out the cafe.
