After Leon left, I finished my drink and began to head home for the day. I was dreading the work that was waiting for me for the weekend, but I was glad I was able to see him again. Leon was a character to say the least, I knew little about him but he peaked my interests.

Lightning began to litter the sky and droplets began to slowly fall as I exited the café and made my way home. The wind began to pick up a bit as I felt the rain begin to prick my skin. I began feeling a sense of reliving my nightmare that I had as the sky began to grow dark. The images of the man who had half his face missing flashed through the sky.

I couldn't help but pick up the pace towards my apartment just reliving the dream.

"This storm came out of nowhere wouldn't you say?"

I turned to see a woman with short black hair wearing sunglasses and a red blazer.

"Yeah it did." I say about to start walking again.

"It's dangerous for you to be out here all alone. There's too many freaks in the world you have to watch out for." She continues as she begins to walk next to me.

"There are but I think I can manage." I respond to her

"You say that but you haven't noticed that I've been keeping an eye on you since you left the café." I turn quickly to her and she smirks.

"How did you.. Who are you?" I say

"Let's just say I saw someone in need and decided to help out."

"Well what about you? How are you going to get home?"

"I can take care of myself which is something you seem to be unable to do as of now."

"Hey!"

"Am I wrong?"

She wasn't but who is this stranger to be telling me that I can't defend myself.

"That's what I thought." She says.

I come to a stop in front of my apartment building and she stops behind me.

"I'm assuming this is your stop?" She says.

"Thanks.. I guess."

"Not a problem, just checking on you for a friend."

A friend? Does she work with Leon? Her demeanor matches his a bit and it is a bit odd that she happened to be at the café the same time around he left if she had been following me that long.

"Leon?" She looks surprised.

"Not him, but he is an acquaintance of mine. I'm curious to know how you know him?"

"Do you work with him?" I ask.

"In a sense, we go back some time but I haven't seen him in a few years. How did you find him?"

"Spilled coffee on him, but I barely know him. We've chatted a few times since then."

"He's a good guy and is very loyal to those that are lucky enough to get close to him. I wouldn't take it for granted. I should be heading off, have some business to attend to."

"What's your name?" I say.

"You'll learn it one day. You should hurry inside." She turns around and begins to head back towards the café.

That woman was odd and mysterious, I had an uneasy feeling with her but I also didn't feel fearful of her.

I entered my apartment and was immediately welcomed by Binx. He purred as he rubbed against my leg.

"I missed you too buddy." I head over to the dining table and set my bag down. I pulled out my textbook and began to take notes that would benefit my future assignments. The rain began to pick up and the lightning flashed through the sky.

I've never seen a storm get this bad here before. Just as the thought popped into my head, another flash of light scattered across the dark sky and everything went dark.

"Shit!" I got up to search for my backup flashlight and Binx stuck by my side. I rummaged through the kitchen drawers and finally found what I was looking for. I press the switch and I had some semblance of light back, with the occasional flashes of lighting. Using the little light I had I resumed taking notes.

Two hours had passed and the power was still out. I managed to knock out a cluster of assignments once I managed to finish my notes. The storm had died down and I could feel my eyes fighting to stay open.

Once I was satisfied with the work I had done, I finally called it a night.

The Next Morning

Binx was back on top of me screaming for food. His usual routine that was very annoying yet very cute. I slowly gathered myself as I began to remove myself from my bed. The morning was gloom, and there was a slight drizzle that landed softly on my windows.

Most people hate this kind of weather but I absolutely adored it. It was Saturday morning which meant I had no classes and could use the morning to  have a nice cup of hot coffee by my window. These were the best times for me, especially when it came to trying to remember where I came from.

The car accident, I knew the details, my parents and I were moving here to D.C. when our car was run off the road by a drunk driver. The driver and my parents were announced dead at the scene but I was still hanging on.

The doctor's said I was lucky, I didn't have a scratch on me. This mere fact always baffled me, I don't understand how I didn't obtain any injuries, let alone survive this deadly wreck that took my parents away from me. The doctor couldn't explain it as other than a miracle.

However, it wasn't a miracle to me. I woke up to be told my name because I couldn't fucking remember it, couldn't remember my parents, and I didn't know who I was or who I wanted to be. I walked away physically fine but mentally I was a mess. Some things from my childhood would slowly come back to me, but the memories of my senior year of high school. Gone.

My therapist can only do so much but even she seems to have grown frustrated after four years of no improvement to my amnesia. She believes that my brain has mentally blocked out these years due to the trauma I witnessed during the car accident. She said only time will tell if I'll ever be ready to unlock those memories.

The nightmares were terrible but they helped me get a better understanding of what is going on in my mind. I crave more, I need more, I need to know who I am and who I was.

Sorry I'm terrible I hope you all enjoy though! :)
