Chapter 10

I haven't left my room for days, not even for school

It's been about 2 weeks since he found out

I've done nothing but cry, sleep and repeat

I've only been wearing pyjamas now, there's no point in trying to even impress myself

I ruined any chance I had with him

And he wants nothing to do with me anymore

I've broken his heart, and mine

My mother has noticed my change in attitude but doesn't disturb me, which I'm thankful for

But there's a knock on my door

"Sweetheart? Will you please go to school today?" My mother says from behind the door

"No mom, I'm not going," I respond

"Please my love, just today?" She asks again

I should go to school

But I don't want to risk running into him

"I said no," I say

"Please..? If you go today, I won't make you go again. I promise,"

I sigh again

I trust her

"Fine,"

Just one more hour, then I don't have to come back

So far I haven't run into the ghouls

But that's for the best

I'm in the library browsing the books when I hear a familiar voice

Toralei

I peek behind the shelves and I see her, she's leaning against a table and she's talking to someone

Is that Spelldon??

He's studying, well trying to, Toralei is annoying him

"So, I heard you found out Valentine's little secret," she taunts

Without looking up from his book, he responds

"Toralei is it? I would appreciate it if you don't bring him up ever again,"

My heart is aching

"But whyyyy? He's never done anything to you, has he?" She asks

"No. He hasn't. But he's done things to other people,"

"But you were so oblivious to it before, so why does it bother you now?"

He slams his book shut and looks at her

"Because I didn't know. Because no one told me. Because he didn't tell me. I had to find out from overhearing a conversation!" He says

Little does he know that Toralei played a part in it too

She steps behind him and rubs his shoulders

"Awww, poor you. You can't trust anyone can you? You have no one do you?" She taunts

"I did. I had Val, but he stole people's hearts! And he broke them! I...I can't believe he did that,"
