It Starts With Her

Midnight snack

So since I'm living with my brother and like most of the time the others come here to stay for like a while or some time like that they have their own rooms and they were all staying as usual and I crept out of my room and my room was like at the end of the long ass creaky hallway most of the steps I took were SO creaky. I managed to make it to the kitchen because I was hungry and yes as much as I hate it out here it's better than being in there, my bedroom I mean it's so dark! And creepy, scary and most of all lonely and yeah you can call me a "baby" or whatever for a 16 year old to be afraid of the dark! And out here has a bit of light But yeah, I am and thats only cause of what happened with my ex.. and it's even more scary of being alone in the dark all by yourself.. but I grab so food like a little snack it was a bag of sour skittles. My back was turn eating some skittle while putting them in a bag and then grabbing a chair again to put them back where they were and I closed up my bag that I had in my hand and as soon as I turn around I heard a voice said to me, "well we'll well, what are you doing up?" I turned around and it was Sarah. "Umm.. I was grabbing a snack.." "oh are you. I mean why would you grab a snack in the middle of the night?" "Well- I mean it's called a midnight snack sooo.. but whatever just uh..- w-what are you doing up?" "Well it's hot in my room and I couldn't sleep." "Oh well it's cool in my room." "It is?!" "Yeah.." "well could i.. umm m-maybe sleep.. with.. you...?" She wants to sleep with... me? What is this stupid and strange feeling I'm feeling??! "Oh umm yeah, of course!" Wait why was she looking nervous? Me and Sarah walked back to my room and I sat the skittles on my night stand. Sarah crawled into my bed and I kind of hesitated and I didn't think she noticed but she did, "hey are you okay?" "Oh um y-yeah.." I crawled into bed too and I was on the left and she was on the right. "Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything right?" "Yeah, yeah I know" "then what's bothering you?" Oh yeah like I'm gonna tell you that I'm afraid of the dark and of being alone in the dark but with you here it is making me feel a lot better but it's still dark and it just I don't know just freaks me the hell out?! "It's nothing let's just sleep.." "are you sure your alright?" "Y-yes.." I lay down and she lays down too and then a couple of minutes later she sits up and then I sit up too and she says "what's wrong because if you don't tell me it's gonna bug me all night!" She said in a worried voice. "Well it's um.. just I'm kind of scared of something.." "of what?... I won't judge or make fun of you or tell anyone, you can trust me Enid." "....fine, I'm just scared of the dark... and o-of um being alone in the dark.. but with you here I'm feeling not as scared..." I say with a soft smile looking at her. "Well I'm glad I'm helping and it's okay to be afraid of something, we're all afraid of something and yours just happens to be this and you shouldn't be ashamed of saying so but how bout we make a deal?" "Okayyyy.. what deal?" "You let me sleep with you like every night if you want? And what I'll be getting out of it is not sleeping in a boiling hot room, sooo what do you say?" "Deal." "Deal." We both smile and then we both laid down and I turned on my side so my back was facing her and she did the same and got closer to me and slowly put her arm around my waist pulling me in a bit, "is this okay?" She said in a soft voice but I could tell she was kind of nervous. "Yea.." at that point my mind was racing with thoughts like, holy shit why did she do that? Why am I feeling like this? Was she nervous? I kind of like her arm being there.. but I just stop thinking and then fell asleep.
