Minho hadn't listened to this song ever since the fateful day. How could he listen to the song they danced to at their wedding without losing his mind even worse than before? Especially with the concept of not wanting to grow older without the other?
Minho was way past that now.
As the melody entered his ears, Minho wondered when he hit his lowest point. Here he was, listening to a forbidden song he banned inside his own kingdom. Dancing to the tune as if it was his last performance to the vacant couches in his living room.
Minho's eyes fluttered shut as he swayed to the music, allowing sound waves to travel down into his chest and weigh down on his fragile heart. He despised how the song felt so ironic in the moment.
I don't wanna get older, without your head on my shoulder
On the day that you leave me, I'll forever be bleeding love"I'll forever be bleeding love." Minho sang along with a broken heart, continuously seeping that red substance since months ago.
As forever comes closer, hope the world will spin slower
I don't wanna get older
I don't wanna get olderMinho sighed heavily.
"You know, I really hate that you're using my favorite mug for that purpose."
Minho's eyes shot open, not believing his ears. But there he was, in all his glory, his loving husband. Still dressed in that navy blue zip-up hoodie, and the baby pink shirt settled underneath. Jisung, who was a bit sheer like a ghost, smiled up at Minho, but not so happily.
Minho's breath staggered immensely, and he began to shake viciously. Tears began to pour down Minho's reddened cheeks, and he cupped Jisung's cheeks, feeling around the younger boy's face.
"Jisung," Minho choked out. He didn't waste any time wrapping his arms around the ghostly figure, and sobbing into his shoulder. Minho felt the faintest touch of arms snaking around his neck, and engulfing him in a hug. He continued to sob for a bit, letting himself soak in the presence of his loved one that he missed unbearably.
"Hey," Jisung called out. "Look at me."
Minho's lip trembled as he picked his head up and stared at his dead lover. "Are you real? Or am I dreaming again?"
Jisung avoided eye contact with the taller boy and ignored the question. "Let's dance, hm?"
The dead boy took a hold of Minho's left hand that was nearly gripping at his hoodie, and he laced their hands together. He didn't bother to extend their arms all the way. Jisung's left hand fondled with the hair on Minho's nape before he began to step to the music.
"Just like our wedding." Minho exhaled.
"Just like our wedding." He confirmed. Jisung leaned forward to get closer to his husband while Minho buried his nose in Jisung's hair.
Strawberries.
The younger boy could feel his scalp becoming wet. Of course he watched how much Minho let himself go, and how much he suffered without him around. There was no way to console the other, and he even knew that this was only temporary.
