You and Rosa work together at the precinct. While y'all are just talking and waiting for Captain Holt to arrive, you suddenly hear the elevator ding. Everyone turned their heads to see Holt walk out with an incredible bright red hat.
You look at Rosa confused, only to see an even more confused face on hers.
"why is he wearing that?" you whisper to your girlfriend and she just shrugs, "i have no idea" she whispers back.
We all exchange looks with each other, you and Jake want to laugh but you're holding it in.
As Holt reaches his office he turns around in the doorway, "alright i was trying something and it didn't work" he exclaimed.

you all laughed quietly to yourselves, "okay back to work" Holt said before closing the door.
"that was crazy right y/n?" jake laughs, "yep definitely" you laugh with him.
"hey! be nice guys" Amy slaps both of your arms gently, "come on Amy you can't say you didn't think it was weird" Jake smiles. Amy just rolls her eyes and walks away. Which made you, Jake and Rosa all laugh.
"i actually think it suited him" Boyle chimed in, you all looked at him like he was crazy, "okay nevermind" he said laughing.
You turned your attention back to Rosa, "i'll see you later babe, i gotta go pick up something for Gina" you say and quickly kisses her cheek. You turn to walk away but you feel hands on your waist turning you back around,
"why can't she get it herself? it's not like she's doing anything" Rosa says and pulls you closer to her. "because of the dare remember?" you say and laugh.
The night before you were all playing truth or dare and Gina dared you to do anything she wants for 24 hours.

Rosa rolls her eyes before playing a soft kiss on your lips, "want me to come with you?" she whispers into your ear as she pulls away. you smile,
"i wish but you gotta finish the paperwork on the case you got with Jake" you say and kiss her softly. "come on y/n you know i need my coffee fast" Gina yells out making you pull away, you laugh at her, "on it Gina" you yell back and quickly smile at your girlfriend before pulling away from her arms. Rosa grunts and sits down at her desk. "imma make your life miserable Gina" you hear her say making you laugh to yourself as you walk in the elevator, you smile and turn around blowing Rosa a kiss, "i'll see you later baby i love you" you yell making her smile before she says a quick "i love you too" back before the doors close.
"AWWW ROSA IS A SIMP" i hear Jake yell.

Rosa pov
"shut up and do your part of the work" i say before getting my papers ready. Jake laughs to himself before sitting down at his own desk and surprisingly doing the work.
30 minutes pass and y/n still hasn't come back yet. She should be back by now, the coffee shop is like 5 minutes away. I grab my phone and call her, she answers after the first 2 dials,
"hey what's taking so long?" i ask, "there's a huge line" y/n says annoyed. Making me laugh, "oh okay, be safe" i say, "i will don't worry" she answers before we end the call.
After a few minutes, we hear Holt come back out, "there's an active shooter in a hotel in Brooklyn Heights. Multiple casualties. ESU is en route and nearby officers are responding to the scene right now" he says before putting the machine on the desk. We all gather around.

"Advising 6 or 7 shots fired." The lady says.
"Hilbert, 9825 show me going"
"9825, i have you going" she replies.
"what are they saying?" Gina asks, looking at us confused.
"show me going and their badge number. they're telling dispatch that they're close by and responding" Holt explains as we listen to the others.
"Y/l/n, 3128 show me going" my heart drops as i suddenly hear my girlfriend's voice. Everyone looks at me as i stare at the machine.
"3128, i have you going" the lady replies.
"wait y/l/n? as in y/n?" Boyle asks surprised,
"that's her badge number" Jake says and i start pacing around.
"Y/n's there" i yell and punch a stapler making it fly and hit Scully on the forehead.
"Rosa calm down it's gonna be okay" Jake says trying to comfort me.
"no it's not. my girlfriend is there" i yell making them all jump but i don't care.
"i'm gonna go and see if i can get us some more information" Holt says before disappearing into his office.
