-Percy-
"And how do you feel about that, Percy?"
I was asked the same question every single day. Always eleven am sharp, my appointment with the school guidance counsellor Chiron.
He was nice and all, and I was grateful that he gave me the ability to say anything I wanted to him, but I just felt that I couldn't. He wanted me to see him as a friend, a shoulder to cry on per say, but he was an adult. He didn't know what a sixteen year old boy like me was going through.
"Fine, I guess." I shrugged and smiled.
Chiron smiled back, the lines around his face crinkling. "That's great, Percy. Is there anything else you would like to discuss?"
'The fact that my mom's getting remarried and I have no say in it...' I thought, but mentally scolded myself and shrugged to Chiron once again. "Not that I can think of."
Chiron nodded and gestured to the door. "Well then, I can dismiss you. Good session today, if I do say so myself. See you next week, Percy."
"Thank you, Chiron. See you next week." I finished with a smile, grabbing my bag and walking out into the corridor. Classes were already being dismissed for lunch, seeing as it was quarter past twelve now.
I made my way through the crowds and walked into the canteen, immediately finding my friends already seated. Jason, Grover and Frank seemed to be in an in depth conversation about football, Hazel, Annabeth, Thalia and Piper talking about some new singer, and Leo tinkering away on his own, seemingly content.
"Hey guys." I said as I approached them, flinging my bag onto the floor and taking a seat next to Leo.
None of them seemed to hear me. Typical. Sighing, I got up and walked around the table, pressing a kiss to the top of Annabeth's head and wrapping my arms around my girlfriend's shoulders.
"Oh, hi Percy." She giggled, looking up at me. I kissed her nose, causing her to blush.
"Hey." I said. She smiled and reached up to poke my cheek before returning back to her conversation with the other girls. I walked over to the boys and sat down next to Frank.
"I just don't see the point of million dollar football clubs when that money could be going to a goat charity." Grover shrugged.
Jason pinched the bridge of his nose. "But it's football, Grover."
"Still don't see the point of it."
"Hey guys." I interrupted, chuckling slightly. Grover was a stubborn guy, that's for sure.
"Percy, thank god you're here," Frank sighed. "these two won't stop fighting."
"Well, never fear, Percy is here. And for the record, swimming beats any other sport by a mile."
-
"I'm home, mom!" I shouted, flinging my bag down and strolling into the living room.
"Hey, baby, how was school?" My mom, Sally, asked as she kissed my head.
I shrugged, smiling. "The usual."
"Well, I bet you're hungry then, if it's the usual," Mom smiled back. "Pizza?"
I nodded eagerly. "Please?"
Mom nodded and ruffled my hair, walking into the kitchen. I walked over to the couch where my soon-to-be-stepdad, Paul, was currently sitting watching a hockey game.
"Hey, champ. School okay?" He smiled.
I smiled back, sitting down next to him. "Yeah, fine."
Paul smiled and nodded. "Good, and how are things with Annabeth?" He nudged my arm with a mischievous smile.
I blushed lightly and shrugged. "Great, I guess."
Paul chucked and nodded, patting my knee and returning his gaze to the TV to watch the game. I watched it with him, until Mom called out that the pizza was ready. Then I was out of there as fast as Grover is out of third period on Enchilada Tuesday.

After dinner, I got a quick shower and pulled on a pair of pyjamas, climbing into bed and snuggling into my pillow. I grabbed my phone -which resided on my bedside table- and unlocked it, opening Tumblr and scrolling through my dashboard.
I'd followed lots of people in hopes of finding one of them to be my 'internet friend', but none of them seemed to fit. So, with a small sigh, I began to scroll through the Mythomagic hashtag.
I stopped abruptly when I saw an account named r.e.d. They had posted a picture of a god. Poseidon, God of the seas to be exact. I used to love all types of mythology as a kid. Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Norse, you name it.
Anyway, back to the account. I clicked on the username and began to look down their profile, and I found out the owner was a girl named Rachel Elizabeth Dare. She was part of one of those unofficial online friendship groups full of people she knew in real life, it seemed.
I scrolled down her list of 'following', and saw that she only followed the people in her group and a few actors, singers, artists and writers.
The first person from her group I came across was a girl with the URL of 'fight-me'. I found out her name was Clarisse la Rue.
Next, I found two brothers, with URL's of 'brother1' and 'not-brother1'. Their names were Connor and Travis Stoll.
Then it was a boy, and his URL was 'doctors-orders'. His real name was Will Solace.
After that it was a girl with a URL of 'languageoflove'. Her name was Silena Beauregard.
I began to get to the actors, and I had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. These guys would make good internet friends, maybe. But I just wanted to be sure before I messaged anyone of them. I scrolled down and down, beginning to lose hope.
That was when I saw him.
Ghostking, his URL was. His icon was a picture of a little Hades figurine, which I found kinda adorable. His name was Nico di Angelo.
As I scrolled down his posts, I was overwhelmed by how much he fit my expectations of what an internet friend would be like.
So, I gathered up all of my courage and took a deep breath, my hands shaking as I typed out the simple message.
'Hi, ghostking' delivered at 12:33am.
