     MATT AND I sat in the cafeteria, this time without Raine with us. She had started her tour rehearsals with Taylor and had to get pulled out of school for the next few months. Luckily, the dean was nice enough to let her complete it on time rather than making her retake her classes. Matt being the best boyfriend he is, face timed Raine every night to catch her up on topics even if she was too tired to understand.

    I had my book in one hand—as I had baby carrots in the other hand. Matt was ranting about how Valentine's Day was coming up soon. "You don't get it though. It's hard to pick!" he begins, as he's throwing his hands in the air out of frustration. "Do I wait for Raine to come back after rehearsing? Or do I go surprise her in hopes of them actually letting me in? I mean Raine doesn't play until April".

    "I'm not sure" I shrug my shoulders. I hand him my carrots in hopes to calm him down—he simply sighs and takes one. "If you want to then go, but safer option is maybe wait?".

     "If I go...you'll be by yourself" Matt frowns. "With Bailey gone on her family trip, Jamie back in london, and Jack...well not really on speaking terms.. it's just you and David".

    I roll my eyes at Matt. "David is David I'll be fine. And jack made it clear that he didn't want to talk to me at the show".

    Matt then sighs, "So...you and Louis?".

    "Nothing going on there" I smile at him, it was my way of reassuring him that me and louis decided to stay friends for the best. Even though we did try, long distance didn't work out for us.

    "Okay..." he mumbles, as he takes another carrot out of my bag. "Then now is a good time to talk to jack, right! He never gave you that second gift huh".

     As a matter of fact, he didn't.

   "It's fine" I say, "whatever, school is over and my parents want us home they have a surprise for us".

    I picked up my bags and both Matt and I had dashed out the school doors. He had been staying with me for about a month because his parents were on a business trip back in his home, Hawaii. As much as he wanted to go he felt like school was the main priority, especially to make sure Raine was all caught up.

   I was glad Matt had his license because taking the subway back home would've been more of a disaster. Since me and Matt have been hanging more and more people began to speculate that him and Raine had broken up, and Matt was with me. Clearly, Raine broke those rumors down by posting how she missed Matt and everyone was relieved.

    As we arrived home, my little sister was waiting at the front door for me. She quickly opened the door and greeted me and Matt with hugs. "Hey you!" Matt laughed as he picks her up. "You got a surprise for us?".

   "Mommy and Daddy do!" Betty giggles.

   "Mom we're home!" I called out, as we place our bags down by the couch. Per usual, my mother walks in all happily as she's about to tell us the news.

"Bailey! Get in here!" My mother calls out. I look over at Matt as our faces both lighten up—she comes running to the both of us and embraces us in huge hugs.

"Bai!" I laugh, "no way! I thought you weren't coming back for another two months".

She pulls away from the hug, "yeah but since Jack tagged along I figured we'd come sooner".

"Jack?" I question. I take a few steps back and look over at Matt—before Jack actually walked into the room. "Jack...hi".

"Hey" he mumbled. Instead he walked over to Matt and greeted him more enthusiastically.

Just a simple hey? Oh, yeah, he was still upset. "Hey? That's it? Okay" I fake a smile and walk off. It stayed silent until I shut the outside door. I heard my mother calling me from behind but I ignored her.

    But, this was just all my fault. If I hadn't picked up Louis' phone call—Jack wouldn't have been ignoring me, because I did hurt his feelings even though I never really knew how he felt about me.
