zhanghao.

it's thursday, desks are empty out. i look over at my left side, gyuvin, our monday morning announcer's looking spaced out like i was 5 minutes ago until i decided to snap out and figured wallowing like a grade-schooler who lost his sparkly pen would absolutely do nothing to change our station's current state.

i heaped a small sigh, letting a hand run through my hair back.

our station, which used to be filled with cheery and chatty sounds was replaced by a complete silence. i look over at the blondie standing with his arms on his hips, seemingly trying to rake out some ideas on how to solve this thing.

hwanhee's leaving. hwanhee, aka the one who co-founded and was the one who tried bribing us with matcha donuts just so we can join his club is leaving.

although no particular reason was left, just a sticky note and a bottle of half-empty lemonade with a bitten straw at the top. definitely belongs to hwanhee.

"well, there's no point in continuing this broadcasting club anymore. we lost our backbone and honestly, i have no idea on how to save this. unless you all want us to have crickets as an audience and put retired jazz backup dancers on our resumes, someone better give us a damn idea." taerae has lost it.

for the past 32 minutes, we've been giving ourselves some me-time to think of a solution. some wanted us to continue 'hwanhee's tarot readings', but then again, hwanhee's tarot readings is not hwanhee's tarot readings without - hello - hwanhee!

i've been chanting the name hwanhee with the word 'left' attached last for like an hour now it's starting to evade my mind. i think i'm seconds away from convincing myself to get a tattoo of his name as well as the words 'left' and 'for good' on my forehead-

my train of hwanhee thoughts came to a halt when i heard a click of a tongue, leading the entire team to whip their heads to where that came from.

"this is just a suggestion, but maybe a new podcast would be nice? like, one with a daily set-up and possibly hold it during the times that that said person would be free of schedule?" matthew, the one in charge of the background music and the one taking the song requests said.

before everyone could chirp in, he continued talking. "maybe we can get someone influential to co-host the podcast? think of a suitable podcast theme that would really go well with what's happening today? i mean, we only have a few stations set up, and well-"

he made sure to look around first as if he was trying to see if anyone was still listening to him otherwise he'll just be the station's crazy guy with no audience. even shooting a glance at me, giving him a shrug as i was all ears as well.

"i will admit they are getting repetitive and boring. i have played the song sorry by justin beiber on our school's speaker for almost 15 times now that i think if a gun is pointed at me and asks me to sing a song without failing the instruments and lyrics or i die, i would most likely choose that song."

word.

taerae was silent for a long time, trying to contemplate whether that was a good idea or if he should give matthew a permanent face-the-wall time-out.

"that could be a good idea, do you have an influential person in mind that could get us the spot? i'm not really familiar with anyone here, nor do i have any close famous person in this school." he says, looking at everyone for names.

i knew one, park hanbin. he's widely known and he's my general biology lab partner. he's smart and really knows his way with charming people. i think he's the best choice i could ever think of yet.

"hanbin? we can get him to co-host with someone in this room. although i am not quite sure if he'll agree to it, he's not much of a talkative kind of person... but maybe we can negotiate with him a little!" this is probably the first long sentence i've ever heard from our club's writer, kuanjui. i think he's my closest here in the club.

ah, perfect! like he just read my mind. i agree with the whole new podcast thingy, it's about time we make a new one since the previous and current stations we have are all bland that i think i have to request another justin beiber song for laughs.

taerae took his time reading and thinking about it. as the club's vice president, he's been in such a tough spot after hwanhee's disappearance.

he's been so stressed i swear i can see moana on the waves of his forehead.

"we can do that. we'll take suggestions now then, what kind of podcasts do you have in mind?" he says. "other than tarot reading, bulletin announcements, and the music station,"

i personally think that hosting some kind of a talk show but like, 30 times more interesting with twists would be a good suggestion. but i have to wait until someone bursts the silent bubble floating around before i say it.

"a news report station? maybe public confession? it's gonna be all over the campus if that happens. who knows? maybe we'll finally get that club budget we've been talking about if this is going to be a hit," junhyeon doesn't really go to this club, but he stays here because he has a little something with our vice president.

it's alright tho, he brings us snacks sometimes.

"we can do a talkshow with everything, we can merge every interesting thing and put it under one talk show and then there! we have a new podcast! perfect!" taerae looks excited, which means we all think it's gonna happen real soon. soon = make an agenda asap and it's effective next week.

i pressed my lips in a thin line. i'm not really that talkative nor so i tend to socialise a lot in this club, i'm more of a 'hey you want coffee?' or a 'oh i'm substituting?' or a 'somehow the mop's lost so i had to roll around and clean the entire station with my uniform' type of clubmate.

"well, junhyeon can help with that. he's close with hanbin. he can talk him out of it, right mr. you do not belong here but we'll just accept you because we have a favor?" taerae flashed him his million's worth of smile, absolutely stunning the brown-haired tattertalk beside him. in which he nodded without even any questions asked.

a few chatters here and there and taerae finally decided to let us go, leaving us with an agenda and asked if he could get us to gather tomorrow at the same time again to talk more.

i bid my goodbyes and headed out. it's getting late and i don't have any make up classes at this hour so there's no use in staying around.

with my thoughts wandering around the chilly atmosphere and the flickering lights of the street light, i just hummed and went straight home.
