As the lockdown went on, Y/N and Lizzie spent more and more time together. Soon enough, some of Y/N's traits started to get on her nerves. Like the early rises even though neither of them had any work.

"You do realise that some people like to sleep in." Lizzie told him grumpily as she turned off his music. "I am one of those people!"

"I can see that and on those days you aren't very peopley." He stated as she scoffed as she walked away.

"Peopley isn't even a damn word." She yelled back.

"It could be!" He countered as she stopped in her tracks up the stairs. "You know how you Americans are with the British Vocab."

"Excuse me?" She stormed back into the kitchen. He handed her a coffee as she thanked him sweetly before going into killer mode. "We were born with knowledge of the English Language."

"The American version yes." He smirked as he sipped his coffee. Enjoying this banter between the two. "You even spell some words wrong. Colour has a U in it."

"No it doesn't!" She argued as he got his dictionary from the bookcase. "Do you have dictionarys in all of the houses you rent?"

"Just in case I rent out to Americans. Yes." He teased her as he flicked through the pages. "See." He pointed to the word they were arguing over.

"Whatever." She said as she headed back upstairs.

"So you don't want breakfast?" He called after her.

"No!" She shouted angrily.

"Are you sure?" He asked her as she paused her movements before heading back downstairs.

"Please." She pouted as she entered the kitchen. Y/N handing her a plate for her to take to the sofa.

"I have to go and check on the restaurant." He informed her as he put his coat on.

"Why?" She questioned as she turned to face him.

"Just some mail. Bills maybe." He shrugged as she just nodded before turning away. He didn't want to tell her his true intention of going so he missed a few details.

It had been hours since Y/N had left and Lizzie was starting to let her trust issues get the better of her. Even though she trusts Y/N with her whole heart, her mind isn't quite there yet. So when he walked in, she was on her feet ready to pounce.

"Where have you been?!" She yelled as he sighed. "I have been worried for hours Y/N. Hours. Not even a text to say you were going to be this long."

"I'm sorry Lizzie." He spoke remorsefully as he saw the pain in her eyes. The fear and mistrust. "I usually have a day were I cook for the homeless but with lockdown and the social distancing in place, I had to cook and then take the food over to the people who usually come." Lizzie just listened as she stood there with her arms crossed. "Even Joe helped me."

"Joe?" She questioned with a raised brow before chuckling dryly. "Is that the name of your whore?"

"No." He told her, offended by her accusations. "Joe was the homeless guy who lived near the restaurant."

"Of course." She spoke sarcastically as she turned away. "I should have known with the age difference and all."

"Hey!" Y/N grabbed her wrist softly turning her to face him. "I may still be in my twenties but when I am in a relationship, I am in it for the long road. The ups and downs. I am still committed." She just listened as he spoke. "I am in this Lizzie. I am in this to see what we have to the end. You are not just some quick fling for me. You're long term. I want a future with you because I am falling in love with you." He took a deep breath as both of their hearts were beating fast in their chests. "I am in love with you my American Dream."

Lizzie smiled softly as she caressed his cheek.

"I am in love with you too Y/N. So much." She confessed. "But I am scared and I am sorry for accusing you and blowing this all out of hand."

"That's ok." Y/N whispered. "You were hurt before so it's harder for you to trust in these situations."

"Thank you for understanding." She told him. "Robbie used to just storm out whenever we had an argument like this."

"That's because he wasn't right for you." Y/N told her.

"And you are?" She questioned with a smirk as Y/N smirked.

"I think I might just be the right guy for you Elizabeth." He whispered before capturing her lips in his.
