Now let the story begin.

Alright [Y/N], you can do it this time.

He thinks to himself as he reads a page of his girlfriend's spellbook.

For the last two hours, [Y/N] [L/N] has been trying to learn magic in an attempt to impress his girlfriend Charmcaster.

Ok, I think I finally got this spell down.

He begins reciting the spell, but nothing happens, much to [Y/N]'s frustration.

Gah! What am I doing wrong?! This is supposed to be a simple levitation spell! If I can't even get this right, how am I ever gonna get as good as Hope?!

He sighs and closes the spellbook.

[Y/N] : Maybe I should just throw in the towel. I guess I'll never get good at magic.

??? : Don't say that babe, you just need some tutoring.

He looks to where the voice came from, and sees his girlfriend standing in the entryway to his room with a smile on her face.

How long has she been standing there?

Charmcaster walks into the room and sits next to him on the bed.

[Y/N] : How long have you been watching me Hope?

She shrugs.

Charmcaster : Not long. I just came to ask if you wanted to get something to eat with me, but I see you've been busy.

She wraps her arm around his shoulder.

Charmcaster : Babe, why didn't you tell me that you wanted to learn magic?

[Y/N] : Because I...wanted to do it on my own to impress you.

He says shyly.

Aww, that is so sweet!

She smiles widely and hugs her boyfriend affectionately.

Charmcaster : Baby, you never have to try to impress me. While I'm honored you wanted to learn magic because of me, I love you ya goof, you don't have to prove anything to me.

He gives her a thankful smile.

[Y/N] : I love you too Hope, but I still want to learn how to use magic. Would you mind teaching me?

Charmcaster : Do you even have to ask? You're my boyfriend [Y/N], of course I'll teach you!

She grabs the spellbook and opens it up to the page that [Y/N] was on earlier.

Charmcaster : You were trying to do this spell right?

She points to the levitation spell.

[Y/N] : Yeah, but I tried it multiple times to no avail.

Charmcaster : Hmm. Maybe watching me cast it will help you out?

She recites the spell and points to the pen laying on [Y/N]'s desk, causing it to slowly rise into the air and float there.

[Y/N] stares at the levitating pen in amazement.

Wow, that's so cool! I wish I could do that.

The pen falls back onto the desk as Charmcaster hands the spellbook over to her boyfriend.

Charmcaster : Now it's your turn [Y/N].

He reads out the spell, causing the pen to move slightly before returning to its still state.

[Y/N] puts his face in his hands in disappointment.

Yet another failed attempt.

Charmcaster : It's ok babe, I know what you did wrong.

He looks at her curiously.

[Y/N] : Really? What?

Charmcaster : You read the spell wrong. It won't work unless you enunciate the words in a certain way.

[Y/N] mentally kicks himself.

I'm such an idiot! All this time, the problem was me not using the right pronunciation?!

Knowing her boyfriend well enough to guess what's going through his head right now, Charmcaster gently grabs his hand and gives him a reassuring smile.

Charmcaster : Don't beat yourself up babe, it's a very common mistake to make. Spells can be extremely particular about how they need to be read. Believe me when I say that I had lots of trouble when I first started learning. Now that you know what you've been doing wrong, you can avoid making the same mistake. What do you say [Y/N], wanna give the levitation spell another go?

He looks at her with a sudden surge of confidence and nods.

[Y/N] : You're right Hope. I'd like to give it another try, but first, can we go over how to say the spell properly before I attempt it again?

Charmcaster : Sure thing babe, now repeat after me...

A couple minutes of practicing how to enunciate the spell correctly, [Y/N] feels ready to try casting it again.

Charmcaster : Alright [Y/N], just pronounce it the way we practiced and point at whatever you want to cast the spell on.

[Y/N] takes in a deep breath.

Ok, here goes nothing.

He carefully recites the spell word for word and points at the pen on his desk.

Much to his glee, the pen begins hovering above the desk.

I did it! I can't believe it!

His girlfriend begins clapping and cheering.

Charmcaster : Great job babe! I'm so proud of you! Now to cancel the spell, just lower your finger until your hand is in the shape of a fist.

He nods and does as she instructed, causing the pen to gently float back down onto the desk.

[Y/N] is then pulled into a tight embrace by his girlfriend, who is smiling at him from ear to ear.

Charmcaster : You successfully casted your first spell [Y/N]!

[Y/N] : I did, and it's all thanks to you babe!

The two begin making out for a few minutes before needing to breathe.

[Y/N] : I still have a lot to learn about magic, will you please keep helping me babe?

Charmcaster : Definitely! I love you [Y/N]!

[Y/N] : I love you too Hope.

The two spend the rest of the day together cuddling and reading through multiple spellbooks.
