~Niall's POV~

"Room 203, sir. The doctor will be right in. Tell her to put this on--if she wakes up. If not, you'll have to dress her." The woman at the front desk advised, handing me a white gown.

"I-er-okay." I said, carrying the sleeping girl into room 203.

I set her down on the hospital bed, and she slumped down into fetal position. I took off her shoes carefully, and started to peel off her dress when her eyes fluttered open.

"D-Derek?" She softly spoke.

"No, I'm-"

"It hurts, Derek. Why'd you hurt me?" She let out a sob.

Derek? I didn't know who the hell this dude was, but it since he hurt her, I made a mental note to track him down and make him pay.

"Derek?" She asked, her voice shakier and a tear running down her pale cheek.

"No, I'm not Derek." I whispered, sitting on the bed.

"Where am I?" She questioned, rubbing her eyes.

"You're at the hospital, love. What's your name?" I questioned, wiping the tears that were falling down her cheek.

"Derek?" She asked again, this time pulling herself up. I saw her flinch in pain as she rose up to eye level. She looked at me, clearly confused.

"I'm not Derek. I'm Niall. Now what's your name?" I asked, grabbing her hand. I wanted her to feel comfortable with me.

"E-Ellen."

"Ellen, do you know what happened to you?" I looked into her royal blue eyes that welled up with tears..

"Derek hit me again. He said I can't go to parties without telling him. And I disobeyed him." Her eyes squinted and soon tears strode down her cheeks, and her hands soon covered her face.

"It's okay, it's not your fault." This Derek kid sounded like a real prick, and I knew I needed to beat his ass when I got the chance. But first I needed to take care of Ellen. I was worried for her. First she thought I was Derek, then she was talking to me about Derek, thinking I knew him already.

"Ellen?" I said after a few minutes. She just looked at me. Her face was blank and colorless. "Will you put this on for me?" I asked, handing her the white hospital gown.

"Can I go to sleep after?" She inquired.

"Maybe. The doctor will be here soon, though." I responded. She just nodded, her arms hoisting herself up. I put my arms around her waist, and helped her up.

"Owwww." She groaned.

"Sorry," I blushed, realizing I was too rough while helping her up. "I'll be in the hallway." I reassured her, leaving her to change.

I sat on a bench in the hallway, shaking my leg nervously. How could a beautiful girl be hurt so bad like that? She didn't deserve it. She deserved someone loving and who actually gave a shit about her. It isn't that hard to care about a girl like her. Hell, I've known her for an hour and I care about her. I just didn't get it.

Sure this girl was someone I had just met but it was like she meant a lot more to me. And she was beautiful. I knew I had to keep her under my watch at least until she got better.

A doctor walked over to me with a smile, and then went into the room in which Ellen was. It seemed like three hours before he came out.

"Sir?" The doctor asked.

"Yes?" I rose from the bench I had been sitting at.

"She should be fine. She needs rest right now, she's a bit delirious. She's also banged up pretty bad. What happened to her?" The doctor asked.

"Uh, I'm not exactly sure, sir." I responded.

"Oh. Well anyway, here's a prescription for her. Twice a day for two weeks. She has bruised ribs and a few minor cuts, she'll be fine. Just be sure to take care of her."

"Don't worry, I will." I said with a smile. The doctor nodded and handed me the prescription. I then headed back into the room.

"Ellen?" I asked.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, confused. I guess she was finally realizing she was at a hospital with a stranger.

"Oh-uh-I'm Niall." I informed her nervously.

"Yeah, I've seen you in magazines before. I mean what are you doing here and how the hell do you know my name?" It was almost as if she were angry, or scared of me.

"I saw you knocked out and bloody in the park, so I took you to the hospital." I explained. "That kid Derek beat you up." I added.
