「 Chapter - 3 」

[Emersyn's POV]

We had finished our homework and now laying on my bed "Oh Carol" by Neil Sedaka playing in the record player as we stared at the ceiling.

"Are you planing onvgoing to the drive in?"

l felt him look at me so I looked at him wait for a response.

"Why? You want to go?" Ivan asked

l tilted my head considering it.

"Hmm."

I shrugged and said "Sure. Could be fun."

He laid back and continued to watch the blank ceiling a smile on his lips.

"Well if you're going I'll go. Could be fun." Ivan said.

▪︎Emersyn scoffed and playfully shoved his shoulder▪︎

"We gotta be careful. That is a place where serpents go too, wouldn't want to get ourselves involved in any sort of conflict."

"Yeah. If we stay in a group we should be fine, I heard Ophelia and Lyla will be there" I told him.

"So it will be me and a bunch of girl?" Ivan said in a flirty tone.

I smiled and said "Yep" while popping the "P" dramatically.

"Well if we'll be headed to the drive
in I should probably head home and start getting ready huh?" Ivan said while gathering his stuff.

"Yeah. We should start getting ready
the next movie will start in an hour, meet back here. You can drive us right?"

▪︎Ivan rolls his blue eyes with a smile▪︎

"Yeah, I'm always driving you places
anyways" Ivan said.

l rolled my eyes as he smiled playfully.

▪︎Ivan places his backpack over his
shoulder▪︎

"See ya later Emy."

▪︎He gives a smal wave and leaves▪︎

I fell back on my bed.

Ivan was right, there would be serpents there and Rhys Wynston or Emitt Caspian could possibly be there.

What were the chances that both could show up??

I was nervous thinking about Tyler.

He was out getting drunk tonight so it worried me 100 times more at the chances he could run into either.

I digged through my closet and everything just screamed wealth.

I started pulling out a white blouse that was cuffed at the wrists and a black skirt.

I got dressed, tucking the blouse loosely in the skirt. I put on my shoes and let my hair down putting in a white headband.

I put a bit of make up on and looked at the clock on my desk.

I still had ten minutes until Ivan would come pick me up.

I stayed sitting at my vanity when my mind drifted thinking about Ivan.

We had met in elementary, we have been best friends since, we were both wealths meaning we were rich and came from rich families.

We had a lot in common.

Behind our reputations of being rich kids, we were huge dorks.

We had movie night and sleep overs, we would talk about our crushes, gossip, and future plans.

We both never understood the conflict between the wealth and serpents.

We never agreed on how wealths treated serpents, even though we were wealths ourselves.

I was pulled out from my thoughts when I heard the honk outside.

I looked out my window to see Ivan's car.

He had just recently gotten his license, I also have my license but I don't have a car.

Unlike my brother, my parents don't buy
me evervthina I want.

Which I'm fine with.

I grabbed my purse and raced down the
stairs.

"Bye mom! Bye dad!" I shouted and left.

l didn't know where they were in the house so I just shouted.

I went to the car and pulled at the handle to find it locked and Ivan chuckling

"Come on Ivi."

He unlocked the door after many tries of me trying to open it.

"Bloody hell Emersyn you really missed me that much aye?" He said looking at me and smiling.

"Tremendously"

He chuckled and smiled again.

"Come on we're gonna end up being late."

He shook his head and began the drive.

I was mentally preparing myself incase we ran into any serpents at the drive in, it made me nervous but it also made me
a bit thrilled at the thought.
