The 3 men that lured Addie to the woods all laughed at her as she stared their prisoner down stunned."Is - is that an elf" she stammered as she pointed to him. They all nodded with wicked grins before the man who brought her to them stepped toward her to speak."You see Addie, I want to believe you've earned your rank but I just don't see it. You are too nice and I don't think you would kill one of these scumbags if you saw them. Tell ya what I will let you leave here to your coronation if you can kill this elf here" he said as he pointed a long knife toward the man. She gulped and took the knife before walking toward him to examine him. He had really long dark brown hair that fell below his shoulders. In the front of his hair he had two braids on each side with small silver rings going down them. He had bright hazel eyes that were glaring at me in hatred. He wore a big bear pelt with fur fluffed around the neck and a small white shirt. His neck was adorned with 2 crystal necklaces and he wore leather fingerless gloves and brown leather boots. Addie thought he was quite beautiful and was overwhelmed with many emotions as she looked at what was supposed to be her first kill. "Are you gonna make out with it or kill it" one of the privates hollered out as they laughed. She looked back at them with a chuckle "this is my first time seeing an elf can't I be curious"? She turned back to him and the smile instantly dropped causing the elf to look at her confused. She made a plan in her head and took a deep breathe before meeting the elf's eyes."I don't want to kill you or any elf. Please help me help you, they won't let me leave here alive if I don't kill you" she whispered to him. He stared at her for a second as he processed what she said before giving the slightest nod. With a gulp she put her wrist together like his and motioned to him to spread his wrist in the binding. She stood up and with a gruff voice she said "Get up elf". He stood up and towered over her 5'7 stature. She took a deep breathe and met his eyes one last time to see he didn't look at her in hatred anymore but confusion. "I'm trusting you" she yelled before slashing the knife across the rope and cutting it enough for him to break free. In an instant the elf ripped the rope apart and grabbed his sword out of its sheath,he darted straight for the three soldiers and slashed ones throat open. She fell to the ground stunned as she watched this man kill the two privates that held him captive as if it was child play.

Once he finished off the others he turned to the commanding officer who led the whole operation. As he approached the officer took out a 9mm and aimed straight for the elf's head. Addie jumped to action without thought and lunged toward him. The officer turned the gun toward Addie but before he could fire a knife whipped through the air into his firing arm. Addie fell to the ground and looked up to see the dagger she once held was lodged into her now fallen superiors arm. The elf walked up to him and yanked it out leaving the man wailing and grasping his arm tightly. Addie slowly made it to her feet and approached the elf. He turned toward her briskly and held his sword straight out stopping her in her tracks."I still don't trust you so don't you dare take another step" he growled. Addie felt shivers down her spine at the first time hearing his voice. He had a very low but soft voice with a slight accent that she didn't recognize. With a gulp she stammered to speak "we can't just let him wail like that it'll cause attention". He looked at her and chuckled, lowering his weapon "what do you suggest miss, I am killing him so I hope you don't think I'm going to help you tend to his wounds"."He wanted me dead too don't you see that? If I didn't kill you he was not going to let me walk away. Do what you must to him but I mean you no harm nor have I ever meant your race harm". The soldier slowed his screaming to speak, causing the altercation to halt "W why Addie,He's the enemy s so kill him". Addie walked up to the man who held a sword to her just seconds before and snatched the dagger out of his hand. He didn't move an inch as he watched her walk up to the man who was moments away from passing out and crouch down to his level."You think I was ever on your side? I've despised my own race since I was 15 and wanted nothing to do with other humans. I was stolen from my family to fight in a war I had nothing to do with. I've had it drilled into me that humans are all that matter and we should wash the world clean of any other race. These elves are doing nothing more than protecting themselves from evil creatures who want nothing but death for them" she took a breathe and jammed the knife under his rib cage. The man lunged forward screaming out at the top of his lungs."You want me to save you when just moments ago you were prepared to kill me" she yelled as she yanked the blade out and stabbed him again. The elf held his hand to his face as he watched Addie let everything go and stab the man over and over. Addie went from screaming everything in her soul out to just crying as she felt all the pain she held over the years take over.

The elf snapped out of it and walked over to Addie and the corpse she was still stabbing. He squatted down and grabbed her hand as she lifted it to stab again. She turned to him,her face flushed and soaked from tears and let the knife fall out of her hand. He gently put her hand down and looked her in the eyes with compassion and sorrow."Hi, my name is Fyllo it's nice to meet you Addie" he said softly. She took her hand back and wiped away the tears and dirt on her face before sniffling and adjusting herself."Nice to meet you too Fyllo" she said in a scratchy voice. She looked back to the soldier and gasped as she grabbed her face with both hands. Before her was a bloody corpse with several stab wounds all around his ribs and underneath them. Fyllo grabbed her shoulders and helped her up before making her meet his gaze."This was your first kill wasn't it" he asked her. She nodded and took a deep breath. As she calmed herself down she began looking at Fyllo again. She looked at his braids and saw 6 small silver rings in each of them. She had read in the library that these rings signify a specific amount of kills on the battlefield. Fyllo noticed her stare then turned away from her."You do what you have to Fyllo I don't hold any hate for that." Fyllo turned back to her and smiled for a second before turning serious again."Where will you go? If you return to your people you can claim I killed these men and slipped away from you" Addie looked up and shook her head. She began removing the celebratory military blouse she was wearing leaving her in a white tank top. She tossed it to the ground and spit on it before removing her hair from the high bun she was required to wear it in. Her beautiful light brown hair flowed till it laid gently onto her shoulders."I would rather die than go back there, but I don't know where to go. I imagine I wouldn't be too welcomed in Elvin territory either" she said with a sigh. Fyllo stood for a second thinking before he came up with an idea"there is a place I could take you. There are places on the territory line that are spared from the war. These towns made deals with both human and elf and have made their home a neutral place for any race to visit. A human must be accompanied by another race however to enter because well you guys started it". She chuckled and pondered the idea before looking at him again."Why would you do this for me? Do you really want to journey alone with a human"? He walked up to Addie till he was standing directly infront of her and met her gaze "I do,you have shown no malice or anger toward me and I see no bloodlust in your eyes. I'm honestly just as curious about you as you seem to be about me". She looked down blushing before meeting his eyes again with a smile "let's get started then shall we"?
