♱ CHAPTER TWO,
Ghostface's Return.
After fleeing the party and the 'incident' with the drunken girl shouting insensitive things at Sam, the group decided to go back to Sam, Tara, and Quinn's apartment. Just until the effects of alcohol washed away for all of them.Coralia stood in front of the bathroom mirror, with her hair tied up, the faucet running as she wiped incessantly the black lipstick from her lips. She had left the door open in case any of the friend group spoke to her from the living room. The last person she expected to approach her was the exact one who did. Ethan Landry stood in mirror view, holding a bottle of water and a package of wipes.
"I think these will be better," He said handing her the wipes. "Thank you." She smiles at him through the mirror, rubbing her lips with the wipe.
Ethan stood quietly behind her like he was thinking of something to say but no words came to mind, or perhaps he was holding them back, not sure if he should let them slip past his lips. She notices, she always does. She doesn't bring herself to say anything, she's run out of things to say to him. She thinks that if she does, she will only manage to ask him why he broke up with her, even if he had given her a reason. We're just too different, Cora. She thought it was bullshit, most likely because it was bullshit.
"Cora." He manages to get out, making her spin around and look at him. She hums in response, gesturing for him to continue. "I-I know you said you were fine and that you weren't bothered, but... are you really?" He asks but doesn't let her continue.
"Because... I know you, Cora. And I know you like to be alone when something bothers you and I just d- I think the 'being in a hurry to take your lipstick off' is an excuse to do that. I'm just asking you to talk to me because I can't just sit around seeing you like that." He finalizes, standing closer in front of her.
Coralia just stands in front of him, feeling like he had only minutes before his sudden outburst. She doesn't know what to say that will make him feel content, but she knows that's of no use because he sees right through her. If she lies, he will know.
She sighs, throwing the wipe on the metallic trash can. She stares back at him and she can see in his eyes that he's waiting. He's almost screaming at her, I'm here!
She clicks her tongue. "I'm the reason my mom killed my dad, and well, herself." Coralia leaves him confused. She was barely nine years old when it happened, how could it have been her fault?
"Cora, it was not your fault. Your mom... she wasn't well. She was on a lot of drugs. That is not your fault, at all." Ethan shook his head, stepping closer to her, grabbing both of her hands from her sides.
She looks away before the magnetic look in his eyes brings her back to stare into his doe eyes. "My mom stopped doing drugs before getting married to my dad. But... she got back on them after having me. Why do you think she did that, Ethan? She couldn't handle a child. I mean, look at where it drove her." Coralia feels her eyes well but she won't allow herself to spill crocodile tears.
