Genes pov:
3:16 Kicking my shoes off,i pushed my hand back on the door shutting at as i saw my dad coming down the stairs.He smiled at my confusion .He was wearing a button up shirt and nice jeans unlike his usual whatever he can find first in his drawers. " how come ur wearing that" I asked as i faced down pulling my tie from around my neck and untucking my shirt.He laughed and turned to stick a tounge out as i twisted my face up again.
"we was kindly invited to dinner by the new family down the road" he grinned again turning around to go to the living room " i helped a lady this morning just taking some of her tesco bags to the door but happend to be the new family so go upstairs and wear something nice " he said as he walked down the hall,he was getting further away so i could barely hear.
3:24 I opened my wardrobe looking for what to wear when something clicked.New family.New girl at school.Great,my science partner aswell what are the chances of that.I may be wrong i might just be overthinking it,either way wether it was y/n or not i needed to look nice.I tried to think of what y/n wore today to try and get an idea of what clothes she might like incase it is her but my mind went blank.I grabbed a thick pink shirt and some baggy jeans,brushing them down i went to the bathroom
mirror and brushed my hair quickly with my fingers and sprayed myself with some cologne.
Y/n's pov:
4:28 My mum said we had some guests for dinner earlier so i had to wear something nice.I walked downstairs turning into the kicthwn where my mum was setting the table. " oh u look nice" my mum beamed at me before continuing laying out forks.I was wearing a new corset and some jeans i'd forgotten about in the back of my wardrobe,with my hair curled just like my mum liked.I grabbed the cups to help her set the table putting down the last 2 when the bell rang.
Genes pov:
I stood outside the house biting my cheek watching the rain run down off my coat and kicking the gravel as we waited for them to answer the door.My dad made us walk as we didn't live far but it was pouring it down with so much rain so my hair was slightly wet under my coat.My dad beamed at me as a figure came closer to the door and opened it.
y/n's pov:
My mum headed to the door smiling back at me.She was so cheerful tonight,i follows her a few steps behind smiling.A man stood in the doorway smiling behind him to his child i assume then quickly turned back to the door and said "Hi,thanks a bunch for letting us come over"stepping inside and taking off his coat.They were covered in rain so my mum offered to hang the coats up and put there shoes in the dryer for after.The man hung his coat up himself and gave my mum a quick hug before ushering the kid behind him to come in as he took his coat of him hanging it next to his.I moved my eyes from the man to the kid passing his raincoat over and running his hands through his hair quickly .

My science partner,i have to sit with for a year.What are the chances.I stood still for a second before realising the man who must be his dad put his hand out to me smiling. " oh i'm sorry i didn't see"i laughed quietly as i shook his hand " i'm y/n" i nodded before stepping to the side slightly to give him space.Why was gene in my house and why did he look so good.Better than at school for sure and that's say's something.Gene smiled at my mum "hi i'm gene that's my dad"he muttered awkwardly,clearly avoiding eye contact before my mum laughed taking there shoes to the utility room to dry. " Gene introduce yourself to the young lady here don't be rude"his dad said giving him a push on the back. " no no it's fine we already introduced ourself earlier" i said immediately regretting it.Why would i say that we could've just moved on and to the table. " oh i see" the man said "well i assume you guys go to the same school" he questioned while darting his eyes between us.The awkwardness in the room was so thick you could've cut it in a knife but as gene began to speak my mum called us all in to the table.
