Y/n's pov:
10:45 I faced the floor twiddling with my string bracelets on my wrist.Talking and muttering started again now the awkwardness of a "new student" had passed over.I lifted my head turning to face the person i had to share a desk with for the remainder of the year.
I smiled trying to break the silence and awkwardness
but it was no use.I was sat next to some fat pale boy trying to chug his water bottle in seconds,dribbling it all down his front.I screwed my face up in disgust as i turned to look at all the other empty seats i could've been sat.I locked eyes with a pair of green ones across the room,an empty seat beside him before quickly looking back at the kid i had to now suffer.I sighed and scanned the rest of the seats before grabbing my bag as the bell rang loudly giving me a fright.
The small smiley teacher at the front announced that we had a project due next week with our partners.I rolled my eyes sighing,of course we did but im not sure there's any point of even asking the guy next to me what it was.I flung my backpack over my shoulder as everyone crowded to get out.I quickly debated asking miss at the front what the project was.I decided with it and waited for the class to clear out,all but one.We both walked to miss in silence as she tilted her head up smiling at us."Is there any issues?"she smiled at us as she clicked some keys on her keyboard.I looked up at him as he gestured to speak first."hi miss,i was wondering what the project is and who we work with"i smiled trying to seem sweet,slightly nervous with the presence of the guy behind me,i could feel his eyes burning into me.Quickly miss scattered her things to find a pen and stood up "Yes y/n there's a project next week on any character from any shakespeare story.You need to find a partner and create a piece of writing based on the characters actions and personality in the story"she smiled at me as i nodded,shuffling past the guy,turning out of the door until i heard both the 2 voices behind me say "y/n" I turned around around confused,as i saw him,the green eyed guy, and miss looking at me.I walked back to the table looking at them both confused as miss gestured to the boy to speak,he didn't he just stood silently looking from me to miss to the floor and again.Miss sighed and said "y/n this is gene.He also has no project partner and i suggested the two of you work together? you can do it out of school if you like for extra credit but don't worry u can do it all in lessons if you don't find eachothers company so...well enjoyable.As its all i have planned for the next week anyway but you don't have to work together just an idea!"she smiled and quickly pushed us out of her classroom before we got to decide.I saw the 3 girls i sat with in form waiting at the end of the corridor smiling and flashing their eyes at me,i tilted my head confused and turned back to face gene."Hi i'm y/n" i muttered awakwardly."yeah i've heard" he laughed lightly "i'm gene,so do you wanna work...together maybe?" he murmured pulling a weird face at the girls from form as he pulled the white t shirt from under his jumper to give him air. "yeah sure sure » i stuttered slightly smiling before i went to turn around and go to the girls.I'd barely reached in touching distance of them before they grabbed me and yanked me around the corner. "y/n no. why was u speaking to him" sadie scowled as alysha and lydia nodded joining in
"y/n you don't want to be around people like him and trust me i would know"alysha beamed lydia started to chime in too,"look y/n hes like a dick to everyone and he's super weird there's no point in trying to get to know him"I turned around pulling faces at them all."he seems nice,and hey hes quite cute"i muttered smiling at them.They all looked horrified and i was so confused.I guess they must've been serious." look y/n just no hes a dick and a waste of time" lydia laughed as she grabbed my arm pulling me to a bench.
