Part Five

Sunlight peered through Will's windows once again. He awoke to the sound of birds chirping as if everything was normal.

Aspiration to make up for lost time, today he had plans with Mike, Dustin, and Lucus.

Once again he would hope that maybe they would play D&D in Mike's basement like they did when they were kids.

Meanwhile across town Dustin is sitting in the back of Scoops Ahoy with Robin and Steve.

While Billy is regrouping from last night, flashing back to the sound of summer rain hitting his windshield as he drove downhill. Erratic winds whip wet tree branches against the side of the house.

Rain began beating on the roof hours ago. A loud crack of thunder rolled after the lightning struck.

Thunder from the harsh storm outside muffled his screams. Billy's tires screech coming to an abrupt halt as he crashes into an old building.

Rats scatter from the inside creating loud squeaks as they flee. Billy takes another step towards the building, his feet sloshing in the mud.

When he takes his first step inside the old tin shed he sees something so gruesome he screams. In the Byers's household Will woke to pancakes on the table.

Glancing over to Eleven who was standing by the phone once again eagerly awaiting Mike's call.

Forgetting about the mall and her words with him the day prior. Unknowingly Will was once again being left in the dark about everything.

"I'm going to Mike's!" Will shouted before leaving the house. He didn't have a walkman instead he just decided to hum the tune of his favorite song. Deep in his thoughts because that's all he could hear nowadays.

Moving back to Starcourt Dustin was in panic as his body couldn't fit through the vent. Realizing that they needed someone smaller.

In came Erica Sinclair, Lucas's little sister who also happened to be in the market and willing to gamble.

"Free ice cream, for life." Erica bargained. Steve gave Dustin a look of disbelief. Within the span of an hour of convincing, Steve and Robin gave in and Erica was sitting at the table infront of the store eating as much ice cream as she could stomach.

"We have decphiered the message. But we need you to climb into a vent." Dusitn quietly explained.

That night Eleven slept at Max's house and their party games from the night before continued.

Cold sweats soaked through Max's soft woolen bed as Eleven shot upright hse breathed heavily. Billy wanted to run from him but he knew he was promising protection.

Billy's father maybe a phsycotic prick but he was the best option. Max's mother convinced herself everday that she still loved him.

Even through thick and thin Bily's father was still her rock..The day of the war was brought to Hawkin's attention faster than expected.

Eleven remembered how Billy looked happiest with his mother. His young smile and short blonde curls bounce in the sunlight as he plays on the California beaches.

His mother watching him smiling, Eleven took notice of the hat she was wearing that day.

How the sunhat covered her face. Eleven felt that something was off with Billy. On the other side of town Will Byers was dreaming.

Memories of when he was cold and scared, alone with no one else. Plagued his dreams. Eventually Will, with the help of his family, farms some new people who had intentions that were good and others that were evil.

Had joined their group. Will later on had become possessed by the monster that took him. He could feel it, with no doubt Will wanted to make up the time he had lost.

However, his friends were growing up. summer, they were officially teenagers. In the summer of '85 everything would change.

Will would once again be left on the sidelines fighting for his childhood back. Lucas, Mike, and Dustin all had girlfriends or girl problems. Will was left to his own devices to dea; with the undying 'love' for Eleven.

Every time Will asked to play Dungeons and Dragons someone shot him down. Therefore, he was in the background once again, shadows had a nice sparkle becoming numb to the pain.

Will became comfortable with the idea of being alone.

After all, he was still just a kid. Sneaking into movies at the new Starcourt mall with his friends.

Or buying ice cream as a long summer's day treat.

Cooling off by being alone, the shadows kept him cold. He came to a conclusion that he would forevermore be sat in the shadows.

The same fate many of his peers had and were to follow in the upcoming weeks. He was once Will the wise and now he was just Will the kid who died but then didn't a few years ago.

Dopamine fluttered through his body when he talked to Eleven.

He no longer felt alone, until now she was growing up and so was he. Will had felt the sun kiss his face wishing it was the real thing.

His dreams turned to nightmares just like everyone elses, Will was still different because he knew the enemies weakes and could feel it.
