“Humans… They are useless and ignorant. If only I can write all of their names into my Death note.. Then I’ll be the only shinigami with the longest life span, and the rest will eventually die. Heh, heh, heh...”

Hyuk, hyuk.. But if you do that, I’ll die, Gukku.”

“Heh, heh, heh.. Right. Also, if I do, I’ll be lonely and bored. Being a shinigami sucks.”

“Boredom.. The human world seems to be more interesting than here in the Shinigami realm.”

The Shinigami Gukku laughed at what his friend, Ryuk, said and sat down to gamble as the others gathered to join as well. This is what they did all the time. And the funny part is that Gukku was terrible when it came to gambling with the others. There wasn’t much to do in the Shinigami Realm and it bothered Ryuk so much. He didn’t bother joining, so he slowly started to leave, reaching for his death note.
Gone.

He stopped in his trail and turned to the others. He had a habit of losing his death note and sometimes it was obvious to the others. He scratched his head and all the shinigami who started the game glanced up to him.

“Don’t tell us you lost the thing again.” Zellogi asked.

“HA, he did!” Deridovely laughed. “The Old Man isn’t going to be happy about this, Ryuk! Wow, you really are a loser!”

“You better find it before he finds out. Do you have any idea where you could’ve dropped it?” Gukku questioned, picking up two bones. Ryuk’s face lighten up and he turned around, laughing, “Yes, I do..”

“Where?” Deridovely snickered, but all Ryuk did was walk away. When he was finally out of view, he spread his wings. “Hyuk, hyuk. The human world.”

“Light! Move out the way! I can’t see Hideki Ryuga! Move!” Sayu whined as she leaned to the right in order to see the television. I smiled and blocked her view once again as I went through today’s newspaper.

“MOOOOM!” Sayu called out, fed up with my game. I laughed lightly to myself as I stepped aside. “Lighten up, Sayu. I was just messing with you. Ryuga isn’t at all that special anyways.” I challenged, not leaving my eyes off the paper. Sayu pouted, and plopped on the couch criss-cross. “You’re jealous because he has it all!”

“I am no where jealous of him for any reason. I’m not jealous at all.”

“Are too!” Sayu teased.

“Both of you stop it.” Sachiko Yagami ordered as she walked in with the laundry basket. I finally looked up at my mother and nodded. Then I shifted my brown eyes to my sister who was too into the show to even notice. I moved over to the kitchen and set the newspaper on the table. “When is Dad coming home, Mom?”

Mom placed the basket on the couch and picked up a white dress shirt. “I’m not sure. I am sure he’s going to call to let us know. Why?” She asked. I shook my head. “I was just wondering. I am going to go study now.”

“Oh! Light, can you help me with my homework too?” Sayu piped in with puppy-eyes. “Ask Ryuga.” I replied as I ran upstairs. I knew I left my sister speechless, and I couldn’t help but smile as I closed the door behind. “Now to study for that exam.” I murmured to myself, taking a seat in front of my computer. It was only six thirty but I didn’t wanted to waste a second. I knew I was going to ace the exams but I wanted a perfect score.
